Phi Alpha Delta is a legal "fraternity"- fraternity in name but more legal interest society in nature. There's no pledging or anything like that. It's really not a huge deal, it's not much different from any other club. If your son is at an undergraduate level, then it's like a pre-law society just with greek letters. There are also law school chapters (I was Justice, i.e. President, of my law school chapter) which are slightly different.
There are plenty of resources available, such as national websites, so that you can learn more about this organization or any others that your children may be involved in or looking to get involved in. Educate yourself instead of asking for other's opinions.
If your kids are happy with what they are doing and what they are getting involved in, who cares what everyone else thinks (of course, as long as such activity is legal and not harmful to them).
