We have two copies and two posters and could've gotten two of the boxes that came shipped in but didn't want to stand in yet another line. We spent the evening at Borders where the kids were in a Potter spelling bee, we had birthday cake for Harry, watched a costume contest, and got sorted into houses by a sorting hat (Girlie is a Gryffindor and the Boy is a Ravenclaw)... A good time was had by all and they both read the last sentence first, so I do know what the last sentence is!

I don't know how late they stayed up reading but they are still sound asleep. I took that opportunity to read the last chapter and then the first two chapters.

I walked past the bookstore in Grand Central - and no joke there was this grown azz man wearing the Potter glasses and a green cape. i thought it was a sweater or jacket and shrugged it off.
but then on the way home, i passed the bookstore AGAIN and there he was with some friends with the CAPE ON and hunched over reading one of the books.
I guess its a good i dea to go to a bookstore that no one really goes to vs. a Barnes and Noble... but it still struck me as odd.

I just finished the book, and no I have not been to bed yet. WOW! JK Rowling certainly outdid herself. I really cannot imagine too many people who are going to be upset with this ending. I will admit I checked the last page to see if the last word was truly scar.
I laughed and sobbed while reading it. I am going to get some sleep and then read it again so I can take in the whole book!

Just finished the book after having slept two hours.
ZTAbullwinkle is right, Rowling outdid herself. I've never had my heart pounding so much!

Seriously, tell me how it ends. I can't get into Harry Potter and I own the first five books. So somebody just tell me how it all turns out. We already have the spoiler warning in the title, so feel free.

I am sorry that I can't be the one to spoil the ending for you. I am quite pleased with how JK Rowling ended it, but I have made a promise to myself that I would give others about 48 hours to read it before I started discussing it in depth. I don't want to inadvertently tell someone who hasn't finished the book yet something (like how I was told of the big death in The Half-Blood Prince.
It has been a while since I have looked so forward to reading a book. I can only hope that another author publishes books that drive so many people to read.

I just finished it. It was absolutely perfect.
I'd post spoilers, but I'm going to go back and read it again.
