Cashmere Mafia
Did anyone catch Cashmere Mafia on ABC last night? I thought it was a little predictable, but good. Lucy Liu was looking fabulous! From the commercials i just knew the show was going to be very "sex in the city" but it wasn't exactly. I'll be watching the rest of the season, it seems like a pretty solid show.

From the commercials I thought 'Sex and the City' too, but I forgot to watch it. Hopefully next week.

I'm curious as to which show will do better, this or Lipstick Jungle. One is from one of the creators of the "Sex and The City" tv show, the other is from the writer of the "Sex and the City" book....

Is "Cashmere Mafia" supposed to be a play on "Trenchcoat Mafia?" Both cashmere and trenchcoat are clothing-related terms... but is there any other explanation for what the title puns?

Now that you mention it maybe I saw the commercial for Lipstic Jungle. I kinda hate when something comes out in mutiples like that.

I watched it and will be watching the next episode to see if I'll stick with it. It was a bit predictable. I lol'd when she told her hubby that she knew his secret.

I DVRd it. The way I see it, with the writers' strike holding up any more production of all the usual shows, any new shows will do well no matter what. They don't have anything to compete against.
Idol starts up soon though and that's 3 days a week at the beginning, isn't it?

Did anyone catch the new episode last night?
"Don't hit on my kids EVER. Again"
And then she shows up with the bus and the parents... LOVED it..

The woman against the other mom portion was pretty interesting. But everything else was just not pleasant or funny or interesting.

I saw the first episode, but it didn't really do a lot to hook me into watching any more episodes. The whole 4-ladies story has been told a few ways already, so the idea isn't refreshingly new or interesting to me
It reminded me of a less-funny version of deperate housewives, except all the women on CM were employed.

My daughter and I were talking about the 4-female friends thing today. We've had DH, Women's Murder Club (which I love), Sex and the City, Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants... they're all just focused on different types of women.
I'm enjoying this show. I watched both episodes today and laughed a bit. I like the "high power" angle and the issues that it brings up (like Lucy and her fiance) and the working mom vs stay at home mom struggles.
