Ladies: Shoe help

I am going to a reception next weekend, was told it is semi-dressy casaul it is at a country club, by the pool, (the description seemed a contradiction), but I found a great wrap dress.

Now, shoes. The dress I found is bright emerald green, some pink, I think. High heels are probably called for, I'm 5" 2", my date is 6 foot. First, shoe color, what looks good with emerald green? Does it still stand that it is the wrong time of year for black shoes? White too bland? Strappy sandals? Pumps?

I live in flip flops and tennis shoes. I also haven't worn high heels in a year, and know enough to not put them on the first time that night. I have to buy them today.

The shoe queen I know is in Europe, so any ideas would be helpful.

How long is the dress? Knee-length, tea-length? If it's shorter, I'd go with the white strappy sandals with a wedge cork heel, to give you a little more height and show off calf muscles. Besides, the wedge heel is a little sturdier since you haven't been on heels in a while With a longer dress, simple shoes are better. Maybe white or pale pink peep toes.

I'm not at all saying "Buy these!" because they're kind of pricey but I love looking for shoes on Zappos then buying them somewhere like Famous Footwear or Ross.

Crimson:
Thanx. I screw up trying to quote.

Anyway, the dress is knee length, my mom bought it. I tried on a shorter number, it showed off my legs, and my mom rolled her eyes, and just started handing me dresses. And she also booked me at a salon "to do something, anything" with my hair.

Wink Just my humble fashionista opinion

What are your accessories going to be? I'm not a particular fan of ^^ those shoes, esp. with an emerald green dress. It may be nice for a glint of shimmer on your feet...perhaps a soft gold or silver strappy sandal? There are some shoes with a slim wedge heel for a sleeker finish without the strain of a thin heel or bulk of a super wedge.

Is there anyway you could post a pic of the dress, so your GC fashion consultants can better assist?

ETA: Definitely just realized you probably bought the shoes already. If so, show the world! We're dying to see!
