Are you Professor Trelawney? Predictions of What Will Happen in Harry Potter 7

Ok, the countdown for Deathly Hallows is in the single digits so it's time to get out your crystal balls and tea leaves (or watch the stars for you centaurs) and let everyone know what you think will happen in Book 7.

Can you trust Snape? Who will die? Will Dumbledore come back as a zombie? What's behind the veil?

No arguments, just predictions, we'll find out who's right in only a few days. And NO real spoilers if by some chance any actually get out before the release! After the release it's up to everyone not to be read anything HP related if they care about being spoiled.

I'm about to head out of town for the weekend, but I have been crystal gazing, and the Orb has told me that I will be making some predictions when I return.

Can't wait to see what others See.

I think Snape is on the good side (although not necessarily a good person), and I think he dies. Oh, I hope not though, I'm a big Snape fan. I think Harry lives, and I wonder if Kreacher is really not owned by Harry now. Part of me thinks that Bellatrix told him to act like he was so they could spy on Grimald and Hogwarts.

I think that Snape doesn't hate Harry. I just think he expects a lot from him, and when Harry doesn't live up to the expectation it upsets Snape. I don't think he is bad. Harry has had the wrong opinion of someone before.

I hate to think that characters are going to die in the last book. I don't think that anyone is safe, especially after Dumbledore died. My orb is cloudy on that one.

I think Sirius is dead.

I predict I will be the first in line at my local walmart to buy the book at midnight, and I will read the last chapter before I leave the store...

Posted already BUT am posting again.

There are scanned copies of the chapter pages floating around the internet (much like the DD death scene when HBP came out). Some of the chapters give clues as to what is happening.

WARNING! DO NOT HIGHLIGHT IF YOU DON'T WANT TO KNOW WHAT HAPPENS!!

Dark Lord Ascending
-another first chapter that is not Harry's point of view
-very dark
-first death

In Memoriam
-back to Harry's point of view
-Dumbledore's past
-Rita Skeeter appears here. Apparently, Harry is not pleased.

The Dursleys Departing
-The Dursley's leave Privet Drive

The Seven Potters
-Harry, Ron, and Hermione are reunited
-Death Eater attack
-another death
-very intense

Fallen Warrior
-another death

-scenes afterwards set in the Burrow
-Apparently, Harry gets drunk. (And I'm not pleased.)
-tells what happened with Ollivander

The Will of Albus Dumbledore
-Harry's birthday! Ron gives him a funny gift.
-Minister of Magic is back
-Lupin is acting off

The Wedding
-Weasley relatives, Luna's father, and Krum all make appearances
-Krum argues with Luna's father over the symbol
-Dumbledore's past again, which is not pleasant
-Kingsley makes an appearence with some bad news.

A Place to Hide
-Harry, Ron, and Hermione leave the Burrow, and run into Death Eaters
-Hermione gets hit on by drunkards
-They go to Grimmauld Place

Kreacher's Tale
-Harry finds a letter from his mother saying disturbing things about Dumbledore
-R.A.B. is Sirius's brother (everyone knew that, lol)
-lots of complex stuff on Horcruxes

The Bribe
-setting is Grimmauld Place
-Harry has sent Kreacher on an errand
-Kreacher seems to be getting friendlier
-Lupin is still acting off, and states something extremely surprising
-Trio find out who has the locket, and they are shocked.

Magic is Might
-Trio plan to get the locket from the ministry

The Muggle-born Registration Commission
-Umbridge
-persecution

The Thief
-Trio leave Grimmauld Place and Kreacher
-Trio stays in the woods.
-Harry sees through mind-link that Voldemort is not in the country, and is looking for a stolen object that has something to do with wands.

The Goblin's Revenge
-Ron does something weird.

Godric's Hollow
Bathilda's Secret
The Life and Lies of Albus Dumbledore
The Silver Doe
Xenophilius Lovegood
The Tale of the Three Brothers
-Trio goes to see Luna's dad
-He tells them a wizarding fairy story about three objects
-They are called the Deathly Hallows
The Deathly Hallows
-Harry follows lead of DH story instead of Horocrux stuff (WTF for me?)
-He becomes stupidly obsessed over it, kind of like how he was over Malfoy in HBP
-Makes a huge mistake and gets the trio "captured"
Malfoy Manor
-A couple of people have died, one important
-Someone else is being kept in the manor
-Someone else dies
-The trio is tortured for info
-Dobby helps them escape
-Another someone else dies
The Wandmaker
Shell Cottage
Gringotts
The Final Hiding Place
The Missing Mirror
The Lost Diadem
The Sacking of Severus Snape
The Battle of Hogwarts
The Elder Wand
The Prince's Tale
The Forest Again

Predictions:

* Harry will defeat Lord Voldemort (duh!)

* Fred & George will become wealthy beyond belief bringing the Weasley family out of poverty through their joke shop.

* Arthur Weasley will die.

* Harry will marry Ginny in the epilogue (or at least be seriously dating her).

* Neville will die battling Bellatrix.

* Dumbledore will leave a final legacy for Harry to help him defeat Voldemort & find the Horcruxes.

Snape is evil and will die.

Harry will beat Voldy without directly killing him, but will definitely be instrumental in his death.

Harry will marry Ginny and their wedding picture will look just like Lily and James'.

My predictions on a vareity of matters:
  • Dumbledore is indeed dead. However, I think that we will find he was not killed by an Avada Kedavra curse, or at least not an ordinary one, or that that was not only spell at work. JKR has described often what that curse "looks" like -- a flash of green light and the victim simply collapses. When Dumbledore was killed, we had the flash of green light, but there was no collapse. Instead, D "was blasted into the air. For a split second, he seemed to hang suspended beneath the shining skull, and then he fells slowly backward . . . ." A Levicorpus as well? Maybe something else, too? I think this may matter because . . . .
  • Snape is, er, not exactly good, but firmly on Dumbledore’s side. I think we will learn in DH that he made an Unbreakable Vow to Dumbledore, and that his actions on the Astronomy Tower were a reluctant (and courageous -- "don't call me a coward!") fulfillment of that vow; I also think that Aberforth was the Bonder. I think that Snape's turn from the Dark Lord to Dumbledore, was, as Dumbledore said, prompted by the realization that he had doomed the Potters. This was because (a) in some Snape-ish way he loved Lily, the one person who had shown him kindness, and (b) he owed James a life-debt ("magic at its deepest, its most impenetrable"), but rather than repaying it he was directly responsible for James's death.
Snape really does hate Harry, both because he is a fairly hateful person in general and because Harry reminds him of James and Lily and all the baggage he carries because of them. Nevertheless, in order to finally repay the life-debt, I think he just might sacrifice himself so that Harry can prevail over Voldemort.
  • Harry is indeed a Horcrux. Book 2 all but says so, and later indications seal it for me. I don't think Voldemort intended for Harry to be a Horcrux -- indeed, he intended to kill him -- but it's all part of what went wrong that night, when he did intend to create his last Horcrux.
I think Dumbledore suspected as much (one reason, I think, that he made sure that Harry understood that a Horcrux could be placed in a living being), but we all know how he always withheld some information until (a) later or (b) Harry could figure it out for himself. (Ever the teacher, Dumbledore.) The scar is the key to Harry’s Horcruxness – indeed, it may be the locus of the Horcrux. That Harry has his mother’s eyes is also a key indication. Eyes are, as is so often said, the windows to the soul – that Harry has his mother’s eyes rather than the Dark Lord's red-slits shows that, in D’s words, Harry is "still a man." I think that this is also the meaning of "in essence divided."
  • What are the other Horcruxes? I think that Dumbedore was right and that Voldemort planned to make his final Horcrux with the killing of the Potters in Godric's Hollow, the home of Godric Gryffindor. I suspect the Potters may have been hiding in Dumbledore's family home, and I think Dumbledore may be descended from Gryffindor himself. I think Voldemort somehow planned to place the Horcrux in Gryffindor's sword.
Kreacher will know, among other things, where the locket is; he probably helped Regulus steal it in the first place. As for the "Ravenclaw Horcrux," my guess is that Voldemort found Rowena Ravenclaw's wand.
  • Wormtail, of course, has to do the right thing and help Harry in some significant way. He, too, has a life-debt to pay, and Dumbledore specifically told Harry "This [a life debt from wizard to another] is magic at its deepest, its most impenetrable, Harry. But trust me . . . the time may come when you will be very glad you saved Pettigrew’s life." Whether it will be because Wormtail will know something about the Horcruxes, I don’t know. His usefulness to Voldemort is now pretty much done with and he clearly is not held in respect by the other Death Eaters. But Snape tells us he is always trying to listen in. Whether he knows something about Horcruxes or not, he will help Harry in some way – maybe he'll know how Harry can remove the Horcrux within himself without killing himself. (We know that Dumbledore removed the Horcrux from the ring without destroying the ring.) Maybe he’ll tell Harry where the Dark Lord is hiding. Wouldn’t that be a nice irony?
  • I think we’ll see a battle between Neville and Bellatrix. Neville will win. At least, I hope so!
  • Draco will have go on the run. The Dark Lord will not be happy with him, and Draco is realizing just what kind of mess he has gotten into. (Regulus all over again?) While I don’t think he'll intentionally help Harry (unless it helps him as well), he may end up being of some help. I found Dumbledore's words when Draco accuses him a begging for mercy to be flashing with importance: "It is my mercy, and not yours, that matters now." I think we'll see at least some redemption with Draco, but I think he will die.
  • Relationships between magical creatures. I still think that in some way we must see wizards/witches, centaurs, goblins and house-elves uniting against the Dark Lord.
  • Other deaths. Unfortunately, I think Hagrid will die. I am also worried about Arthur and Molly Weasley. I have been worried about Ron since the chess game in Book 1, but I think that he, Hermione, Ginny and Harry will all still be around at the end of the book. But Harry may have new scars of one kind or another.

My predictions.....(thus far until I reread book six)

Petunia is the witch who "comes into her powers late in life"- to me it's a no brainer. Petunia is/was so jealous of Lily, which was made apparant in book one (and the movie). I think Petunia was so caught up in that Lily was accepted to Hogwarts and she wasn't that she "hid" her powers and "pretends" to be "normal". Something will have to happen to Dudley, Vernon or herself to make her use her magic. I have a feeling that Harry will be involved somehow along with Voldemort.

The three deaths- (based off the information that JK actually released). If I remember correctly from the information given, the 3 deaths are main characters, but don't quote me on that.
-Neville: I too think it will occur fighting Bellatrix
-Snape: (more later)
-Harry or Voldemort: (Which we know is another no brainer, one of them has to die due to the prophecy)

I wouldn't be surpised if other, non "major" characters, such as Lucias, Crabbe, Goyle, Arthur, Tonks, etc... are killed off in the final battle as well.

Snape isn't "evil" persay- I've never truly believed that he is evil. If he truly was, he wouldn't have saved Harry in book 1. Yes, he is taking out all his anger of James onto Harry, but I don't think he wants Harry dead. I think it's because of Lily, he liked Lily. Snape hated James, liked Lily, so I think he's somewhat confused on how to 'feel' about Harry. I think a part wants to like him (and therefore protect him) but the other part hates him (and therefore make his life a living hell).
And even when he killed Dumbledore, I couldn't get the sense that he was 'evil'. Malfoy couldn't go through with it. Even though it wasn't mentioned in the book, we can all guess that Snape most likely told Dumbledore aboud the unbreakable vow that he made with Narcissa & Bellatrix over Draco. DD knew that Draco was there to kill him, DD could have taken him out, but instead he calls Snape, who he knows has an unbreakable vow. There was a reason behind that and I don't think it was to show that Snape was evil.

Those are my predictions/thoughts for now.

Didn't someone say that JK already said this definitely would NOT happen? I'd love to see it, but I'm pretty sure someone said that, but didn't see it when I looked it up. Anyone know? (it'd be so cool, though...I'd love to see Vernon's face when his wife does you-know-what...)

Yes. JKR said Petunia has never done magic and never will.

But ASUADPi is right that JKR did also say that someone who had never been able to perform magic would be able to late in life. My prediction is that it will either be Filch or Arrabella Figg.

I haven't been following the spoilers. I just heard that from our Harry Potter thread, which is like 3000 pages long , so if there was confirmation or clarification of the spoiler, I didn't read it

MysticCat-thank you for the clarification. I'm bummed though. I really, really, really wanted it to Petunia.

My predictions (I've been rereading the books so everything's clearer now):

Snape-Is on the Order of the Phoneix's side. My thought is the DD knew about the Unbreakable curse and told Snape to kill him when the time comes. Which leads me to wonder how valuable Draco might be....... I also think Snape will die in this book.

Neville and Luna- One of them is going to die. I'm leaning towards Luna. Neville has a lot to prove, and I think this is his time to shine. I think Neville will duel with Bellatrix and (hopefully) defeat her.

The Weasleys- This pains me to say, but with a family that large I think at least one person will die. I'm thinking one of the twins and/or Molly. I think Ginny will be safe as well as Ron (see below)

The trio- I think Ron, Hermoine, and Harry will survive. If JKR kills off Harry she will have a lot of angry fans! She has invested too much time in coupling Hermoine and Ron to kill them off.
