Post problem

I have a slight dilemma. I am transfering schools next year to be closer to my mother who is sick. I know that I might be able to affiliate with that chapter of my sorority. The problem is that I will only be there for a short time (hopefully) until my mother gets well. I want to transfer again but not to my original school because they do not have my major and neither does the second school. What should I do? Would it be really tacky to try to affiliate with two different chapters of my sorority? I kind of worry that it looks bad or that I would be frowned upon. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

Hey giselle! I don't really think that this is a problem. You can do one of two things. I know that you do not know how long you are going to be at a different school but if you are not going to be there long, I wouldn't worry about affiliating with that chapter. Wait until you get to the third school to affiliate. But I don't see any harm in becoming affiliated with both chapters. It may be a lot of fun and you'll meet a lot new people. If I were you, I'd ask your nationals or ask around the chapter that you are affiliated with right now to get some friendly advice. I hope your mother gets better. That's really awesome of you to move back home for her. Good luck with your decision. You'll be fine!

giselle, I do not see a problem as far as affiliation. You are s Sister of that Soro. You still have that common bond!

Cool

Giselle, if you are straight up with them and tell them that you will only be there for a short time because of your mom, I don't think there should be a problem. You may not be able to live in the house but you should be able to participate otherwise. And once you are at the 3rd school they probably won't care if you decide to stay here. Just think, you will end up with three times the sisterhood!

ps - Good girl for moving to be by your mom. You'll always be very glad you did.

I think that even if you are there one semester, you should meet and affiliate with your sisters. Who knows, you may make some great friends that you can return and visit when you come home.
