Order of the Eastern Star
It's probably been put on a thread here some time ago, and I'm too lazy to resurrect an old thread, but just a couple of tidbits for al you GCers:
At last month's stated meeting of my OES chapter (Plano #703, Grand Chapter of Texas) elections were held and both my mother and I were elected to the office of Worthy Matron and Worthy Patron, respectively.
Another fellow GCer, tinydancer, was also elected Worthy Matron of her chapter as well.
And on a slightly unrelated topic, I was recently awarded the Civil Air Patrol Commander's Commendation medal. Caught me totally by surprise.

Wow! Congratulations on your CAP commendation.
Yeah, I have less than a month until my installation. Just let me say that I have no brain at the moment.

i dont like to preface, but i know nothing about OES.
i always thought of OES as being ultra-secretive, like REALLY secretive. i feel really weird just knowing that you all have just gained these distinctions.
but congrats nonetheless!
/random venting.

Congratulations to y'all - I know that's quite an accomplishment!
The women of my family have almost unamiously gone through the chairs, with the exception of my grandmother, mother & me. I did try Rainbow Girls, but really didn't care for the chapter's attitude. The experience ruined me for OES, etc.

Congratulations to your mom, you and tinydancer!
I've been wanting to try to get into OES, especially since my grandpa was a Mason and my mom was a Past Worthy Advisor for Rainbow... But haven't heard anything back from the local chapter, yet.

My road was definitely a planned given being a Past Honored Queen and Past Bethel Guardian for Job's Daughters and active advisory board member for Rainbow it seem being in OES for 20 yrs it was a sure fire bet i would travel up the line eventually.
My mother and father and grand parents ,and aunts and uncles are all Past Patrons and matrons and some are Past Masters of the lodge as well as Shriners. My brothers are Masons as well as being Past Master Counselors for Demolay.
Having all this Masonic heritage the running joke is that my first marriage didnt count because he wasn't Masonic material and i need to find a suitable Masonic husband to marry next time!LOL
Anyways, CONGRATS on becoming Worthy Patron-elect and your mother Worthy Matron-elect as well as tiny dancer its a long road but worth the time!!!!!!!!!!!

I was hoping someone could help me with some contact info. Do you know of a Pearl Chapter #131 out of Fort Worth? I have a friend who's mother recently died who was in this chapter. She would like to contact them. Any info you can provide would be appreciated. You can PM me with the info.
