Big Wave Surfers Appreciation Thread
You have to give them respect for having no fear. Me, I'm happy with some medium size waves, but I've never gone beyond a 6 footers.

When I was in HS (and had no appreciation for life) I had a 8-12er but nothing above that.
Still, you won't see me out and about at the North Shore during winter season. I value my life now.
And finally...I want to have Makua Rothman's babies. Any guy who rides a 66'er (as seen in this picture) can do whatever he wants with me. Don't know why he won with the 66'er...but he still won the XXL Challenge despite riding a 74'er last year.
Ahhh..MAKUA.
For now I'll stick to the baby waves of town and my longboard.

Body boarding is fun, but it's a different kind of fun than surfing. I used to body board, ahh good times. There is just something inherently cooler about surfing though.

I have a lot of respect for anyone who takes on a Big Wave. it's definantely exciting even though it's also dangerous.

I do my monthly intake of surfing either in Durban or Port Elizabeth. I'm saving up my vacation time so I can head over to Mentawai Islands in Sumatra, Indonesia.

Whoa, Tahiti. My other dream location for surfing. One day, I will have the guts to try out G-Land. I've herd great stories about it. Sort of like the holy grail for surfing.
What about Cali? Where is a good surfing spot? I know that is a stupid question, but where is ur favorite spots?

Yes there is.
I am a bit excited that one of the two hurricanes in the Atlantic might stir up some seas for my vacation next week. I'm gonna try to snag a longboard from my cousin or my future cousin-in-law.
Yeah, 6ft is about my max too.

I'm going to Teahupoo someday before I die.
Bodyboarding's fun. It's really hard to find the perfect spots though. Spongers and surfers don't really get along too well here for some reason.
