How do you keep your themes going all night?

So I've been to quite a few themed parties thrown by different houses on campus, and for some reason only a few have had the theme go all night. Most of the time everyone gets really drunk and gives up with the theme.

My question is how do you keep people interested in the theme, even after the 4th keg tapped out?
