Returning Chapter
There is a rumor that the Villanova Chapter might be recolonizing after 5 years... does anyone else know anything about this?

I know they had a huge problem there at Villanova with the chapter going underground. They had to issue a cease and desist warrant against them. That might have been the reason they hadn't been back in five years.

After our meeting last night, one ofour brothers has his actual younger brother in at Villanova, and they are recolonizing.

This does not seem to be the first underground that has been brought back to colony or chartering status.
Not sure if ir was James Madison or George Mason. Any help on that? Just re instituded last year.
Great news still about Villanova!

It was James Madison I believe that was brought back. I don't think that Villanova is an underground being brought back. Like I said they were ordered to cease and desist. They were closed for risk management concerns a while back, and gave LCA a bad name there. An elc told me a funny story about the whole problem with them.

Villanova has them on their GreekLife website listed as an underground fraternity. But I am not 100% sure of their status.

I am a member of the st. joseph's chapter in philadelphia as well as high delta. From talks we have had through alumni we will be performing the pinning cermemony for their chapter within the next few weeks and we will be initiating their ams at our campus sometime in april. I am especialy pleased to be a part of this because they have essentaily asked us to be thier parent chapter which means alot to all of us.
From what I've heard about the nova chapter from friends that go to nova is that back when they had a chapter the guys would give girls one color cup and guys another, which had something to do with rufees or something, this is of course speculation and rumor. So far though things are looking very good becuase our chapter is one of the strongest in the northeast right now and with the promximity of nova and upenn we should have a great time organizing cool events and such things.

Lambda Iota Zeta comes off two year suspension in the fall but I have not heard if HQ and UW-Whitewater is ready for us to come back or not. Most of that were active at the time of closing have left the School or graduate this spring. I talk to the guys that will be around next semster have move on because the way our aluma treated us right after it happen. They would like to see our chapter come back but we all have alot suggestions to help keep the chapter alive this time. One of the biggest ones is we all believe that the aluma's need to stay more active in the chapter and not to make a joke of the high Rho postion on High Zeta. Has anyone heard anything on what is happening with Lambda Iota Zeta?

Jonathon is there other problems with Greeks and Whitewater? Sometimes GLO and Schools have problems.
I heard something a while back.
Alumni support is a must and the Officership of Rho should be elevated to a more prominent possition for sure. I have mentioned this many times before.
But, it is always good to make come backs IF we can be stronger than before.
I have been conversing with a Brother from UNC St. Un. and he too would like to see a resurgent there.
Keep working, it paid off for me and My Chapter!

So we have two new recolonized chapters being formed in the state of Pennsylvania at Villanova and Edinboro. Interesting, but I would like to see us reopen chapters in states where we don't have chapters like arizona or new jersey. It seems like we are only opening chapters in states where we already have the most chapters at like Texas, Pennsylvania, and Florida. Just a thought.

Good call HONKY, perhaps the fact that there are chapters around to help or big concentration of alumni are motivating factors. How about bringing back some of our older chapters such as Brown or Harvard?

Florida really hasn't gotten that many new chapters. FIU had been a colony before but met with resistance from administration. Other than that I can't think of any real new chapters in Florida.
