What do you not miss about college?
When I talk to other grad, all they continue to talk about is "What did you miss about GL and college?" so I have a new question:
What do you not miss about college?
I do not miss:
--paying dues (sorry)
--annoying roommates
--rising tutition rates (yikes)
--overly expensive textbooks
--cafeteria food
--boring teachers
--campus parking
--greek rivarly
--homework on the first day of classes
--super small dorm rooms
--working on group projects with slackers
These are all I can think of right now but I'm sure there are more.

The only problem is that in the 'real world', you still have many of those things:
--annoying co-workers/neighbors
--cafeteria food were you work
--boring/annoying managers
--parking were your work
--super small cubicles
--working on group projects at work with slackers/backstabers/etc.

At least, at work, you only have to eat the cafeteria food at lunchtime... and if it's truly atrocious you can brown-bag it. It's not like you've bought a mandatory meal plan and you have no choice but to eat Aramark food three times a day all semester.
I do not miss:
-- Having to share a room intended as a double with 2 other girls (who were evil, btw)
-- Being worked like a dog and having to pay for the privilege, instead of getting paid
-- Overpriced textbooks
-- Working on group projects with slackers (although, yes, this has often happened to me at work as well)
-- LOUD roommates and suitemates
-- Not being able to have a car (on-campus parking spots for undergrads were scarce)
-- Cafeteria food (fortunately we had a declining-balance plan, and the balance was refunded if you didn't use it... I learned to cook real fast )

I don't miss the drama of being around girls who act like the sky is falling when the smallest thing doesn't go right for them!

Well, since I work for my Alma Mater now, I still have to put up with the traffic and the parking on campus. I guess something that I don't miss is living in such small spaces, granted I did love all my roommates from the AOII house and the dorm, but gosh, those small rooms can make you go crazy! I definitely don't miss the price of textbooks these days! I've heard of students paying now almost $500 for books! That is wild!

Ditto! I also don't miss having stuff taken from my shower basket (just because you want to try my $25 conditioner and it's on the rack in the bathroom with everyone else's shower baskets doesn't mean you can have it); having to eat a meal at noon and 5PM; having weekly Sunday night meetings; having to share a room with someone else; people's loud music and drama; boy hours and dry housing rules!

Awww. I know this was awhile ago but yay for my sisters back in the day! Hehe.
I miss it ALL!!!!
All of you make valid points... The parking, the tests, the food.
BUT, I still think I would go back in a second and take all of that over this crappy working for a living thing.

I don't miss going to class.
I also don't miss registration, especially when the one class you need is cancelled or rescheduled to another semester.
I don't miss being broke all the time and trying to work when I could fit it around insane class schedules and sorority meetings.
I don't miss getting caught in the elements while walking all over campus.
I don't miss commuting for my entire collegiate experience and dealing with curfews at home, etc.
Having said that, I'm crazy enough that if I could go back 22 years and do it all over again, I just might. Maybe.
