Which I-Pod
Time for a new I-pod, and I would appreciate your opinions.
It's between a Nano and a Video.
I like the Nano because it's smaller, and you can get an arm strap for it to jog with. BUT.. I like the Video because it would be fun to store photos in it. (Doubt I'd use it much for video.)
Which one should I get?
Anyone have the video and can offer some opinions on how you like it?
Also.. which accessories do you have and recommend? I already have an InMotion mobile speaker system with docking station.

I have the 30Gb video and I love it. I put my entire playlist on there and it barely made a dent in the memory. I can pretty much put whatever I want on it and not worry about having enough memory. With a nano, you're more likely to reach your limit quicker, meaning you'll have to delete songs. Also, I'm pretty sure they sell armbands for video ipods if you wanna jog.

i agree. i rather pay like $50 more and get about 26 more gigs. but that's just me

Everyone I know who has a Nano has run out of space. The Nano costs more per song, if you wanna get cost-conscious about it. I have a 30G video that is a little more than halfway filled--and I use it as a back-up HD for my Mac. There are armbands for the Video models.

I got my nano as a gift last Christmas. Love the small size. I'm not sure I'd want a regular ipod as they feel too bulky & awkward to me. I wonder too about the battery life on the video too.
I have the Hi-Fi stereo...amazing!

Thank you so much! This has been very helpful info.
It looks like I'll be ordering the video model! There's a 30 and a 60GB version. I don't mind spending the extra money if you think 60 is necessary??? Or am I paying an extra hundred bucks for something I won't really need?
MacMall has a deal right now for free FM transmitter, case, and engraving (after rebates).

Hi Blueangel! Joel Osteen here! I recommend the 30gb video IPOD. I bought my little daughter the nano last year, but it quickly filled up to capacity when she put all of our church music in there. Good luck and don't buy the black one!

Hi Blueangel! Joel Osteen here! (I do love your screenname by the way) I will most definitely tell Victoria that you said hi. She is saying her prayers right now before bed. I'm just finishing up Sunday's sermon. Be sure to tune into your local Bible station to catch the worship service on TV! And remember to buy my book!

How many songs do you have and how many photos are you planning on keeping there? I have over 400 songs on mine, and like I said, it's barely made a dent in the memory. If you're not planning on putting videos on it, I really don't see why you would need 60GB's, unless you were planning on dowloading every song ever recorded to it.

I use my 60GB iPod as a back up hard drive for my most important files. I also keep my whole playlist on it, with some of the latest tv shows that I've missed.

FYI, you can store photos on a nano as well.
Also, I have an assload of music - probably a Richard Gere assload. Just tons, and I don't hide it well. I use a nano, because the portability makes up for having to reload it when I want to. The nano still holds over 3 days of music, and I carry it in a wallet w/ my ID and cards so I can listen to it at lunch, never forget it at the gym, etc. It really depends on how often you'll have it docked/will want to reload it, or whether you'd rather have your entire collection in one place.
There are definite positives to both, but both can handle photos equally well.
