LA Tech rush?

I'm transferring to La Tech next fall (2007) and considering rushing. I will be in my 4th year of college but I'm considered a freshman in my major (I changed it twice and then 90% of my classes I'd taken didn't apply to my degree) and have a good many years left in school. I'm curious how competitive rush is there. Would it be next to impossible for me to get a bid because I'm not a freshman? Any thoughts/comments are greatly appreciated.

Is this fraternity rush or sorority rush?

I'm not that familiar with Louisiana Tech but generally speaking, being a "4th year" may not matter that much with IFC rush. What may matter - and often does - is how many years you have left as an undergraduate.

Having said that, your grades will follow you thus you will need to meet the minimum GPA at Louisiana Tech to rush. And depending on the chapter and campus culture, you should have a good explanation as to why you changed your major "a couple times". If everything is on the up and up, and you fit with a chapter, you shouldn't have an issue with IFC rush.

ETA: Woops, my bad. I thought this was in the general recruitment thread.

Anything is possible but it may not be likely. Tech sorority recruitment is not as fussy as others. However, that doesn't mean that everyone who goes through will get a bid. You're best bet is to talk someone at the Tech Greek Life office. Good luck to you.
