Make-A-Wish
I just had to share this story.
I went out to dinner tonight with my best friend. We sat down at our table and in front of me to the side, was a father and son. I could tell that there was something special about the little boy because he had peach fuzz for hair and was very skinny. The father and little boy were chatting with the woman at the table next to them. The little boy, who was five, was saying hello to the woman's little girl.
Well the father and son continued to eat dinner together and I noticed the little boy was wearing a Make-A-Wish t-shirt. My heart lept. I wanted to go over to them and introduce myself and tell them how my sorority had adopted Make-A-Wish as our national philanthropy, and tell them how excited I am to help the cause and see the smiles in little boys like this one.
But I didn't...
Instead, I couldn't take my eyes off the little boy who was so full of life and energy. He was just so cute. My best friend kept telling me to stop looking because I wasn't paying attention to her...but then I interrupted her and said that I'd be happy living my life serving others just to see them smile. And I would.
I don't know what kind of illness that little boy had, but he was a doll. He was so happy and I appreciate his love for life because he's obviously battling something a lot harder than a broken heart, bill, or classes.
I am SO happy Chi Omega chose Make-A-Wish.
