I'm hoping that a sister can provide some words of inspiration I can't find myself.
My chapter has been through some turmoiled times the last few years, especially the years before my initiation. Low numbers, sticky situations, you name it. However, a lot of hard work has turned it around. We will finally have a full chapter house in the fall for the first time in over a decade, and we're nearing our panhel cap of members.
However, we still have situations where no matter what, sisters debate on withdrawling from sigma kappa, for one reason or another. And yes, there are those cases where it might be for the best, or unavoided. But, I'm only a sophomore, and I have seen dozens of sisters walk out the door.
Right now, I have 2 of my closest friends in the chapter debating on leaving. One will be a senior living out of house, who thinks it just isn't worth it. The other just feels like the house isn't providing as much as she is giving to it.
This is all probably way too much information, but really, I'm looking for some inspiration. Unfortunately, a quick google search only returns the negatives of sorority life. However, I know there is alot of good in it, and I cannot imagine my life any other way.
I know the greek system isn't perfect, but why are you still a part of it? What does it really mean to you? I'm guess I'm just looking for someone to say the words I just can't get on paper....
