Question Hurricanes

When I was an active in the early 90s, there was a tradition among the bigger fraternities called "Hurricaning." If a guy got lavaliered, pinned, or engaged, his buddies kidnapped him and tied him to a tree, usually in his shorts. His girlfriend would be there, and usually her sisters. Then the guys would dump all kinds of horrid gross things (tobacco spit, garbage, rotten food, paint, and sometimes worse) all over him. Then the girlfriend had to untie him, at which point the boyfriend hugged and kissed her and got her all gross too. Then everyone would circle around them and serenade them. I guess it would be considered hazing nowadays but it was honestly done as a celebratory thing in good fun. Just wondering if anyone else did this or still does anything like it. (My poor hubby had to go through it 4 times!!! Once for some DG, and 3 times for me!!!!)

Cool

When I saw Hurricanes..I was thinking of either the kind of storms we get down here or the drink they serve at Pat O'Brian's in the French Quater...lol. If you are ever in New Orleans stop by Pat O's. They do all the college rah! rah! stuff--singing songs, etc.

Hey CuteHootie
I saw that place while I was there, but I was in high school so obviously I couldn't get it. I heard it's totally cool. Wish I could go back now that I'm older.
Oh well...maybe on my honeymoon....someday. WINK WINK
