Talking Big/Lil Week

Hi everyone! I am so excited b/c I got chosen to be a big. I wasn't going to do it when we were officically asked, but the girls preffed tonight and I just couldn't say no! Ok, here's my problem though. Do you girls have any good ideas on inexpensive gifts? I'm on a pretty tight budget, but I still want my little to have a great week. Any help offered would be wonderful!

Chi O love and mine,
HoneyBunny

HoneyBunny, Check out the thread on this forum called MY Very First Owl Pal. I gave some instructions for a fun Owl Cake that costs about $1. it's fun to make and it's very cute!

Hi HoneyBunny! I have a website theat has some pretty neat inexpensive stuff.(Greek University.com!) If you like, we can do a gift basket of little things. Here is a link as an example, as well as the link to the home page so you can take a look around!

Chi-O Box www.greekuniversity.com/HandBeadedMiniBox.htm

Home Page www.greekuniversity.com

Hope this helps!

Cool

From the above posts you will be off to a great start! I LOVED big/lil sis week. A few other ideas:
Bulletion board- of course decorated with paint pen. $3-5
Make posters! under $1
Bubbles, playdough- $.50-$1
a soap dish, tooth brush holder, etc (4 pieces for $1) that we decorated.
Koolaid makes slushie mix ($.50 each), in red and yellow flavors, so I paired that with some matching cups.
This past year I made a family tree on the computer, for heirloom day I gave her a copy of the blank tree with a note telling her she'd get the real one on revealing. On revealing I gave her one with all the names in a frame ($2).
Basically, one of my pledge sisters and I went around to all the Dollar general stores, big lots, etc. and just looked for red and yellow stuff. We had a blast!
Hope this helps some, and have fun!
Heather

There were some helpful ideas in the above thread. I also wanted to add some ideas I left out before!
~@ Buy some plastic, clear picture frames and paint on them. You can outline them with X's and horseshoes or something cute. Or hotglue a cute yellow and red ribbon on it.
~@ For Big Sis/Lil Sis revealings we do photo albums. I'm not sure if this is the same from campus to campus, but you could always buy some cute material to cover the album, stuff it and decorate it with something.
~@ I also bought clear key chains (the type you put pictures in). I put a picture in it and then on the other side I shrunk a copy of the Symphony.

I'm out of ideas for now... Good Luck!
Hootie
