Smile Bawdy Songs

Hey Girls!

Our chapter has like 2 rather...see they aren't even dirty, they're just bawdy really...songs. And I was wondering if anybody else out there had some interesting songs to share? I'm not sure ifthe moderators want me to type lyrics in here, cause that might not be "ideal noble womanhood". But I'll let this sit for a while and see if people ask for them.

The songs we have are affectionaely known in our chapter as the "Garter Song" and "The Silver Goblet", which is more of a chant, and not dirty at all...but I was just wondering if anybody else had some stuff to share!!!

~Allie~

Well, I'm not sure about other chapters, but I know that mine only has "The Silver Goblet" and "The Garter Song." My big learned one when she went to convention, but she's not sure of the exact tune.
I was intrigues by this post to see if anyone knew ones my chapter didn't have.... then it turns out the person who posted the original message is none other than my big!
I love you Allie!!!!

Love, Michelle aka the lil one

PS- You're not in Columbus, GA just yet.....I still have you for a few more days....

well, as a member of a chapter that isn't yours I can say that we don't know either of those songs. We do have Take Your Man Around hte Corner (which I will not post on here) and we have Cecelia which i odn't think is bad at all, but i guess some might think it is.

Take Your Man Around the Corner is the one I learned at Convention from my AWESOME ROOMMATE BRANDI! But I am unsure of the tune...

Since no one has said anything yet...I'm gonna go out on a limb here and type the lyrics to the songs my chapter has...

The Garter Song
(To the Tune of "Kellerman's" from Dirty Dancing..)

Way up past a Phi Mu's garter
Way above her knee
Lies the heart of Phi Mu's honor
Her virginity.

So hike your skirts a little higher
Go rolling in the grass
You'll find that all the frat boys want
A piece of Phi Mu ass

The Silver Goblet - I've actually heard this as a Sig Ep song too...

Pass the great silver goblet
With the Phi Mu on it
And we'll all have another round of beer..
MORE BEER!
For it's not for knowledge that we came to college
But to get drunk while we're here.
More beer! More beer! I said we need more beer!
If you can't drink a beer like a Phi Mu can,
The you shouldn't have a G-d damned beer in your hand!

(Our house doesn't actually drink beer all that much...we're amaretto sour's kinda girls...but it makes a better chant...)

Sorry to crash your board, but I just wanted to share: That song is actually an old one, and originally it was about Kappa Alpha Theta. It's sung to the tune of Columbia University's "Alma Mater." If you're looking for some bawdy songs, there's a book called The Erotic Muse that has a lot of words as well as music. Your university library may own it, as well as a public library if it's got a good music section.

My chapter had not one but two versions of "Take Your Man Around the Corner," as did the DG chapter at my school. I bet if you ask around at the other sororities, you could come up with the melody. I'd sing it for you but music doesn't come out so well over GC

We use the last two lines of Silver Goblet as a chugging chant:
Chug a beer chug a beer
if you can't chug a beer like a phi mu can
what are you doing with a G-d beer in your hand...
CHUG A BEER!

not something we say too terribly often, but everyone in our chapter knows it. we will switch the words and use it for chugging anything.

At Florida I think we just made up our own drinking song. It starts out with Roll em up Roll em down, roll another keg around cause the Phi Mus are drinking tonight... and then it goes on. But when my roommates and especially when we lived in the house, all you had to sing was those few lines and everyone would know what kinda night it was gonna be.

Tara
I have a Phi Mu castle...

My boyfriend who was pledging Alpha Sigma Phi knew that song too. Of course it was "Here's to Pledge XXX..." He still makes me chug to it every once in a while....

Thumbs up

What a great thread... my chapter is currently looking for more songs!

We do one called Yo-Ho, it's a little scandalous... if you're curios I can put up the lyrics.
Our cheer for drinking is different too...
It goes:

Here's to you
and here's to me
and Phi Mu will always be
and if by chance you disagree
well F*** you and here's to me!

Memories...

My chapter does the Roll em up Roll em down, roll another keg around cause the Phi Mus are drinking tonight... one, and we also have the Yo Ho chant/song. In my collegiate years, Yo Ho was taught on Initiation night and only done with initiates present. We had another chant that was also only done with initiates. Out of respect, I'm going to refrain from posting it, but it was my favorite. I've been known to chant it with other sisters over the phone from time to time since going alum...lol

Would it be possible for one, or some, of you to send us a tape of some songs and chants? Mainly chants we can use during Greek Week and Bid Day. It'd be greatly appreciated!!
