Juicycampus/Greekchat person
You know who you are. Youre on this website and you act like you dont talk about people and then you reply to ever thread on the UCSB section on juicycampus with all of your anonymous rumors. Stop pretending that you're actually a nice person.

Juicy Campus is the most horrible thing I have ever seen. I cannot believe it is allowed to continue.

Yes, free speech is terrible!
It's a stupid website that turns college into high school but it's whatever.

I really don't want to argue the intricacies of free speech but there are degrees of abuse...i.e. walking into a theater and falsely yelling Fire! is one of them. Anyone who has seen this website knows it crosses the line.

How? It's random gossip from random internet people. Anyone who takes it seriously probably has more problems than just visiting juicy campus.

This is worse than terrorism.
This is the 9-11 of the internet.
I will remember where I was and what I was doing the moment I read the OP.
We're doomed.

I disagree. Rumor, gossip, and lies can be extremely hurtful and damaging. It is no different than whispered lies and obscene writings on bathroom walls. It may or may not be true, but it does put doubt and cast a shadow on someone's reputation. But the real concern, imo, is that there is no option or action that can be taken by anyone who feels they have been maligned on this site.
Reputation is everything in this world - to make a point: the many comments and advice given about recruitment that pertain to reputation. If employers and grad school administrators are looking at Facebook, etc to check up on applicants, who's to say that something said on Juicy Campus won't be considered in that process?
And all you have to do is ask a college student about Juicy and they will tell you what a factor it is on their campus...
Sorry for the hijack, OP. I have no idea who or what you are referring to. I just feel very strongly about this site.

Lol and that`s completely illegal, btw. I hear Juicy Campus is being sued as well. It is offensive, I completely agree, but hey, some people are immature.

If you really want to be shocked - read their Terms and Agreements on the website that expressly explains their position on anything posted online.
People are definitely immature but this site is so much more...there have been incidents of students being placed on suicide watch over stuff posted online. And after the big court case where the mother was sued for posting lies on Facebook or Myspace about her daughter's friend which led to her suicide, I would think this site would cause as much moral outrage.

People ignore it at Arkansas.

My school just got this, and really, nobody really uses it. You can tell that the only people who post on it are freshman morons who are just looking for HS-type drama, which is hard to stir up on a campus of 26,000 students.

Dammit...who's the JuicyCampus/Greekchat person obsessed with UCSB? SPILL!
My campus was just added and so far only 9 posts. One of them's from a Kappa Sig. Classy.
