If you won a contest that provided $1,000,000 for your Undergraduate Alma Mater, but you could specify what it would be used for, what would you request?

Good question. I would have it ALL go to full scholarships for African Americans who have the grades to get in but not necessarily the finances. No athletes would be eligible b/c that's where all the funds go now. I went to a PWI so I understand the need for blacks to be in college and stay in!!

It would go to purchasing a new "Black House" and rededicating it in the name of the preservation of Black history and culture on campus.

It has currently morphed into a "multicultural" house, which I do not agree with.

Any one who knows Howard, KNOWS that place needs a new Athletic complex including a gym, basketball arena and football stadium BAD!!!!!

I would endow a chair for African American Professors in Education, Women's Studies and Afrikana History. I would also require each department of study within the university to provide at least ten scholarships for each of its students in need be they undergraduate, graduate, or continuing education.

I would definitely want my UG school to expand it's African American Studies Department whereas students can major in the subject. Right now, students can only minor in African American Studies.
