Concessions
Anyone do concessions for Major sports teams?? like the NBA, NFL, etc?
Any advice on how to get started... I heard concessions are a great way to make serious money if you bring enough volunteers.

Call the local arena/stadium/etc.
Generally, what you need is a specific amount of people guaranteed for a specific number of games/concerts/events over the season.
Say... one booth. Guarantee 12 people, and you need to guarantee 10 games over four months. They don't have to be the same 12 people for each game though.
Six flags does this too, but not concessions. They pay $7/hour cash per head, but require a committment. say two days, 15 people, 10 hours. $2100 there.
Depends on what you can swing. Maybe gang up with another org if you don't have the numbers to float something like this.

By the way, this is Six Flags Great America, just north of Chicago. It may vary in other locations.
...and yes, $2100 = Wow!
But in my calculation above, it is 300 labor hours.
Of course you have fun with it too, and you can always make a road trip out of it.

You will make lots of money but it is a difficult fundraiser. It requires a huge commitment, in time and in numbers. When ny chapter and young adults group from church did it; we needed at least 15 people and in 6 to 9 hour shifts. It'S usually really hot and the customers were rude as hell. Plus everyone has to be at least 21. Both groups have dropped this as a fundraiser.

Meaning Six Flags? or the Sports Concessions?
We haven't done it for a few years. Probably 4 or 5, but I don't recall it being that horrible. Granted, I didn't do it, but I would have heard stories.
Summer is definitely hot. We did it in fall. The local Six Flags did a halloween thing to. I think they're open two or three weeks in October.

Concession selling is easy except for one thing. The People that You may have to deal with.
But if most people realize, the Selling of Alchohol is cut off at the end of the 3 rd quarter and at the end of the 7 th inning.

We did. last fall semester, our chapter worked at the Browns Stadium. despite having the register not working half the time, it was worth every minute of it. we had at least 10-12 members worked the concession stand.
we made a pretty good amount of money.

Concessions
We made about $1,500 in one weekend providing concessions at a NASCAR event. It was definately kind of like being in a rerun of the Dukes of Hazzard, HA!, but we had a great time. It's very labor intensive and requires a committment from a set number of volunteers. Contact the sporting event stadium, arena, or speedway of your choice and get details. It's a great way to spend time with brothers or sisters and make a lot of money really fast. It is very tiring especially if you're in the hot sun but it makes the unofficial event that evening so much better if you know what I mean .
Cheers,
