Parmount cuts ties with Tom Cruise

Just heard this on the news and read it via MSN.

NEW YORK - It’s Tom Cruise vs. Sumner Redstone in a case of you’re fired-I quit at Hollywood’s highest level.

On one side is the chairman of Viacom, Inc., which owns Paramount Pictures.

On the other is the industry’s biggest and most bankable star, whose last seven films have each generated over $100 million.

Redstone said Tuesday that Paramount would sever its long and profitable relationship with Cruise/Wagner Productions, Cruise’s company with producing partner Paula Wagner. Redstone told the Wall Street Journal that Cruise’s “recent conduct has not been acceptable to Paramount.”

I have to say "go Paramount". I think Tom is psycho. He lost all credibility to me the moment he began jumping on couches proclaiming his love for Katie (to whom he had only been dating for like a month).

He's a huge publicity whore now and I think deserves a huge knock in his ego, that not everybody wants or likes him.

This is the same Paramount that produces Entertainment Tonight and other tabloid shows that make big bucks off of reporting on Tom and his habits/life/projects, etc.

Right.

I read it in Yahoo.

It's unfortunate what happen but Tom has gotten a lot wierder since his famous "Couch-Jumping" showing on Oprah and the interview with Matt Lauer.

Right.
I didn't know that (that Paramount produces ET).

But you know they will always have other stars, who A) aren't as psycho (hopefully) and B) still give them plenty to talk about.

Remember there's always Britney. LOL

There's a difference, too, in captilazing on his craziness (a la ET) and having his craziness threaten your bottom line (movies).
