Wink Future Pledge

See I know that some bruhs might get mad cause I am posting this message, but that is Ok cause Alpha is in my blood, I am a son of an Alpha a nephew of a Alpha a grandson of an Alpha and my mentor is a Alpha I have been aroung alpha men all my life and I am going to pledge this frat because of the SERVICE that it offers to the community and to the dedication that the brothers show to one another and to their frat!! Unlike other brothers (who make me SICK) just in it for the black and gold letters that really sucks man b/c you are bringing a bad name to the frat, but most of all you are discouraging future pledges from wanting to join this frat. I just wanted to let all the future pledges know that this frat is not just a step group or a bunch of dudes that wear black and gold. But these men like my dad and my grand-dad and my uncle and my mentor are GOOD examples of REAL Alpha Phi Alpha men!!!! so don't let the bad example bruhs discourage you from joining this wonderul fraternity Because I know that i am joining so that I can serve my community with a cause!!!!!!
BE ENCOURAGED FUTURE PLEDGES!!! And I would like anybody to respond brothers and non brothers!!!!

Thumbs up

Thanks Futurepharoah01:

Although I am an advocate of APhiA, I suggest to young men considering Alphi to also look at the other frats. It takes a great man to be an Alpha man and everyone is not suited. In some instances young men find that other organizations are better matched. However, those that are men of deeds, scholarship ... are likely to favor the House of Alpha! Much luck on your quest and keep me posted if/when you cross those burning sands!!!!!

Wassup "futurepharoh01"! Reading your post I didn't know how to initially handle your comments. Although your father, grandfather, uncle, and mentor are Alphas, try to remember that you have to earn theirs just like they did. If/when I have a son I don't want him to pledge Alpha, becasue I did; although I do want him to realize that Alpha is the only choice for soooo many reasons. Also try to remember that just becuse they made it, does not mean you will. Are you in college yet?

Brother Spectrum 3,

You took the words right out of my mouth. Although I would like to add one thing. My father is a Que. When I first came to college I was dead set on being a man of Omega. When I told this to my pops, he told me to look around first. Joining, EXCUSE ME, PLEDGING an organization soley on the basis that someone in your family is a member is reprehensible. You've got to follow your own path and build your own house. If at the end of your journey you believe that my house is for you, then I welcome you with open arms. So I pledged the black, the black, the black and ol'gold.

Brother Dexter:

I agree with your comments! My fater is a Kappa and my mother is a Delta. I really had to do some soul searching and looked at all the Greek organization before deciding what was best for me.

Cool

Listen here little brotha:

Fraternities are made of men: humen. That means that we all have problems. Some men have problems because they haven't found their own identity BEFORE joining a frat. Because they haven't, they look to the frat to GIVE them one, or share ITS identity. All fraternities should expect these kinds of young bruhs to try to get in. They may be good in heart, but they cause the fraternities all kinds of bliss when they try too hard to impress, or build a rep.

Thank God for bruhs like yourself. Brothas that research the frat, know what they are looking for, and go get it.

Remember how you felt when you wrote this. After you've crossed, when the chapter is having a meeting on a cold day(while you're entertaining your boo)and you're trying to decide whether to go to the meeting or hit it, I hope you have the same enthusiasm then that you have now. If so; if you're that kind of bruh, then we'll welcome you into the HOUSE OF ALPHA. I would love to INTAKE you-if the BRUHS know what I mean!

'06!!!!!!!

Good luck to you

Young man,
I wish you luck; however, silence is golden. I've seen legacies denied on several occasions because of the "blood line attitude". Just remember that you will cross those sands on your own merit and not on your family's coat tails. Alpha doesn't owe you anything...if anything you owe Alpha. All that being said, follow the instructions of the brothers that have already posted and IF you are accepted into membership you will surely KNOW and love the OLE GOLD and BLACK as we all do.

Ps. My mom used to say..."loose lips sink ships"

To all the brothers...SEE YOU IN DC HAPPY 100

It has probably happened to all of us. I know it has happened to me more than once.
