				Green Friday '06: Savings? Bargains?

Will any of you flock to spend your money very early on Friday?
If so, what stores do you plan on visiting? Do you have a certain strategy that you follow on this day to take advantage of the bargains?

For you internet shoppers, savings are to begin on Monday.

				Of Course...

Yes, Soror, I plan to be up and out at 5 o'clock in the morning! It's a tradition my mom and I share...I wouldn't miss it...I get a rush that I can't explain! We get the paper Wednesday morning, highlight all the savings, etc., and hit the stores with the best values first, i.e., Wal Mart, Best Buy, etc. And, if the deals are too good, we'll split stores and meet each other at a designated spot. I remember 3 years ago I wanted some lighted Reindeer to go in my yard....Big Lots was having the BOMB sale, but we couldn't be in 3+ places at once, so we called ALL our friends and gave them each assignments...we in turn picked up what they needed at the stores we shopped, we literally were shopping off each other's Christmas List, it was a BLAST!!!!!!!!!

eveready1908, are y’all those people I see in the stores with the cell phones speaking with one another about the deals you've discovered on your respective aisles? |

We waited all year for this day to get our new computers! We woke up at 3 thinking we were ahead of the game. But my cousin, who works at circuit city, called us when we woke up and told us that the line was already across the street! They weren't opening until 5. LOL!

I went to Target around 9 that morning only to get some DVDs for my brother who informed me after the fact that he would rather have CDs. His biggest gift this year is a computer that I won in a raffle at work. I just have to ship that bad boy to him.
In Charlotte, we have Concord Mills (outlet mall) that opened at midnight Thanksgiving night. I believe another mall opened here as well that night. Folks got stampeded and all of that foolishness.

My mother told me that she almost had to engage in fisticuffs with a chick over my cabbage patch doll back in the day. |

A lot of those computers didn't even have Windows and a few other programs.
I was up at 4am with my sister waiting in line at Walmart and Best Buy. They had digital cameras and portable DVD players on sale. I picked up quite a few DVDS that were on sale for $1.88 and $3.44. By 10am I was pretty much done with all my Christmas shopping.

Most of my shopping was completed online.

I wanted to get up early and stay in line but I couldn't do it this year. I did however manage to get a Digital Camcorder for hubby at Bestbuy for a decent price. Or at least what I thought was a decent price.
