Congratulations to Kappa Kappa Gamma at IU!
Their bike team won the women's Little 500 race this weekend.
Here's the link: Kappa wins Little 500.
There is an unbelievable amount of training and work that goes into this...teams train almost year-round. It is a huge accomplishment to win!
The Cutters won the men's race.
Congratulations to all who rode!

It's great when a house is able to have members with such great athletic talents.
Congrats to them!

Is the Little 500 the race that is in the movie Breaking Away?

Congratulations to my sisters! I think this is the race they lost last year by a tenth of a second or something close like that.

There we go again ... my little pet peeves.
IU = ...? Idaho University? Don't assume everyone knows what IU is. Why is it so tough to type down couple more letters on the sentence to make it more informational for dumb readers like me?
Anyway, congrats Kappas!

Yeah for Kappa! They really do have a Cutters team? I thought that was just for the movie Breaking Away. Cool. I love that movie!

Congrats to our Delta chapter Kappas!
-----------------
For Queequek, a primer:
IU = Indiana University.
U of I = University of Iowa
ISU = Iowa State University, Illinois State University, Indiana State University.
And I'm not quite sure what the Idaho designations are.
See, it's so much more confusing with ISU than with IU/U of I.

Ahh...but it depends where you're from! U of I to me is the University of Illinois. Queequek has a great point--there are so many different schools that go by the same shortened forms that it can be overwhelming to those that really have no idea what you're talking about. Here's another for ya:
U of M: If you're from Michigan...it's the University of Michigan. For those 'up north' it's the University of Minnesota. And both Big 10 schools at that--way confusing!

I went to the races again this year and had a great time! Even though my girls didn't win, it was nice to see Kappa's beat Teter which is a dorm on campus. I was a little upset that Cutter's won. It was so, so, so close between the Cutter's and ATO at the end. ATO actually crossed the line first, but apparently they bumped the Cutter's rider which led to a 5 second penalty which then made the Cutter's the winners again.
When it came to the men's race, I was cheering on my pals at Chi Phi. Let me tell you, those guys did awesome! They started with a 21st place and placed 9th at the end! It was awesome! And since a few of those riders are friends of mine, that made it all the better!
Maybe next year we can have sorority and fraternity winners!

Woo woo to my sisters at Delta chapter!
I graduated from IU 6 years ago, and we won Little 500 2 times while I was there. Some of my best Kappa memories are running around the track with my whole chapter, taking our "victory lap" after our awesome riders.
I am *SO* proud of these girls!!!
Little 500 is such an amazing week...to top it all, I met my husband during Little 500 of my senior year!!!
