A Sigma Memory
In honor of the week of our brother's founding, I just wanted to share a fond memory I have of Sigma...
The very first men I met as a freshperson on the campus where Andre and Khalid, two men of Phi Beta Sigma. They took my roommate and I under their wings and showed us around campus. We went to our first college parties, and quickly understood that a party would be the bomb if hosted or attended by Phi Beta. They introduced us to and helped us understand the "eventual Greek world" that first year. Little did I know I would one day call them my fraternity brothers!

Aww, what a sweet story. You have compelled me to share a Sigma story. :-)
Back in 1993, I was on a 10 city tour with my business partner/linesister. We were showing a music video we had produced with 5 or so other film makers to colleges.
While walking around the campus of a small college in Charleston NC late at night, we met 3 Sorors. Of course we were all very excited to meet one another. That very night, these dear Sorors invited us out to dinner. Of course we accepted the invitation.
As we were approaching the restaurant, who did we spy? Sigma Fraternity brothers. These kind gentlemen, not only paid for our dinner but safely returned us to our hotel.
Aww, after 10 years, I still get misty by the love of our Family. BLUE PHI!!! to my Fraternity Brothers on their special day.

I am not a member of any sorority myself but I had to jump in on this one.
The first memory I have of freshman year is meeting members of Phi Beta Sigma Fraterntiy, Inc.-actually i should say they met me. They came up to me, introduced themselves, and offered to show me around campus.
These gentlemen didn't know me from Adam, but they encouraged me to join the NSBE chapter at my school, they helped me with my homework, taught me how to cope with home sickness, kept me on the straight and narrow and of course hooked me up with party and stepshow tickets.
Now as I prepare to leave school, I KNOW that I would probably have had a tougher time adjusting to campus life without these gentlemen. And, even though they have graduated, they still find time to give me call or send me an e-mail to be sure that I'm still well.

Greetings Sorors and Sisterfriends,
I did not have any encounters with any Sigma men at my college, but I do have a story to share.
I grew up in a small, but tight community. Everybody played with each other and we always looked forward to the summers. Our motto was "If you mess with one, you mess with all." Getting to my point, little did I know that the twins from across the street would become Sigmas and I would become a Zeta. It is such a beautiful thing when we see each other back home. We are family in more ways than one.

Ok sorors, I am misty-eyed. One of the first people I befriended in my freshman year was a member of Phi Beta Sigma. This young man showed me and my friends around town, took us out to movies, the mall, and such, gave us rides to the grocery store(small town with limited transportation) and was just a general all around great guy. He was one of the major reasons I decided to join Zeta, because of the unconditional love I felt from him. I get all mushy when I think of the men of Phi Beta Sigma-they are truly the salt of the earth!!!

I echo everyones sentiments on the suave, sexy Brothers of Phi Beta Sigma. They were the first men I had the distinguished pleasure of meeting my first few days at the University of N. C. at Charlotte. Look where I am today. I would not change a thing. As a result of that exposure, pledging anything less would have been....
