Yes, I've watched it before. It's a Grade A, first class train wreck. I don't believe that these people would agree to appearing on a show like this, but they do.

I don't have this channel (atleast I don't think I do? I don't go past channel 70) but whatever woman I marry better be strrrrrrong because all I know is that if I have daughter, she'll have me wrapped around her finger and she can buy whatever she wants. Purses, makeup, expensive clothes, cars. Anything. She'll be daddys little princess. Is it bad that I already know I'll be like this ?

That's great, except the fathers - all successful business men - look like absolute chumps.

Some of these girls are well into their 20s, have college degrees, and still run to Daddy.

I wonder what kind of guy will marry these girls...?

Ok I just saw some of the promos....Us [insert surname] girls ARE NOT this bad....We did get almost everything we wanted (within means) if we were good and they could afford it....

You know, I started this thread to chat about the show, not what kind of girl you'd like to marry or what kind of father you had.

I really don't care.

So if you don't watch this show, then please don't post here!

Capiche?

Ok Seriously, How old is Molly?

She can't be in her 20s!!!

IMO she is probably going on 40...and she's at least 34!!

I understand that people can be daddy's girl and that dad's want the best for their daughter (sheesh i'm a daddy's girl) but come on, there has to be a point---an age limit---or something where it just becomes a little overkill. Case in point--MOLLY!!

I love the show, because it is very real, and I have known a number of "spoiled girls." Have I got stories!

My first experience was with a really good friend in college. Her father (we'll call him "Mr. X") was of Warner Brothers fame... so you can imagine the money he had.

He was considered a "whale" which is what they call a multi-million dollar gambler. Each year, Mr. X (he was a widower) would take his daughter and her choice of friend to Las Vegas. The casino would comp everything for ten days.

And yes.. one year I went with my friend. The only condition-- (requested by Mr. X) was that we were not allowed to watch him gamble.

We got free airfare, limo at the airport to meet us... all meals at all of the best restaurants comped, and we stayed at the "Presidential Suite". It had everything including a huge jacuzzi tub with a chandelier over it. The place was huge and gorgeous... and a bit "over the top."

A giant floral arrangement was there to greet us-- with expensive flowers flown in from Hawaii. This, from the VP of the hotel. We also had a fully stocked refrigerator with everything you can imagine. We had "staff" at our beck and call 24 hours a day. Anything we wanted, we got.

Every morning, my friend and I would go down to the office of the VP, and he would say, "OK girls, what would you like to do today?"

He would arrange VIP tickets (front row seats with a special entrance-- no waiting behind red velvet ropes with "the little people") to all of the best shows in Las Vegas. He provided us our choice of a car to drive to Hoover Dam. He arranged spa treatments... you name it.

Oh.. and yes... we snuck up on her father one day playing craps. My friend actually had a rather minor medical emergency -- and we saw he had more than 100-thousand dollars in chips on the table. No wonder we got the royal treatment!

I had the most amazing time. It was a blast. My friend? Well, she just yawned through most of it.

I think the thing is that she was born into incredible wealth and doesn't appreciate it. People who come from nothing (like Oprah) and then make it big, DO appreciate it and have happier lives.

My friend and I live in different states now, but we still keep in touch. She's a very nice person, but doesn't really have the spark or drive to do anything, because she HAS everything. The problem is-- it's all about the journey to success... and she missed that. She doesn't have the experience of making it on her own and of accomplishing things. Everything was handed to her, and she's bored with her life.

It's kind of like in sports. You can go down to the trophy store and buy yourself a six foot trophy. But what would it mean? If you had to work really hard for it and train six hours a day... a five inch trophy would mean so much more.

Ok sorry to hijack the purpose of this thread, but these comments really irk me. Just because someone sits back and "yawns" while their parents are spoiling them, doesn't mean they don't appreciate it. I appreciate any and everything my parents give me and do for me, but I don't make a big deal of it because I don't want it to seem like I'm bragging.... like "oooh look at what my father did for me... oh look at what I got..." I've watched other friends who aren't as monetarily fortunate as my family, and it makes me appreciate what my parents do for me even more. There are plenty of people who have things handed to them, yet they work their asses off. And living in Michigan these days, I appreciate what they do for me even more because I can't find a job.

There are reasons behind everything. Maybe you should have asked your friend how she can just sit back and act like it doesn't phase her?

Because, PMMama, my friend once said to me, "I'm just sponging off my father. You're lucky, at least you did everything yourself."

Sorry my post "irked" you.

I hope one day your friend gets "cut off"

I was "cut-off" in a way...it wasn't a real rude awakening becuase I knew it was coming....but it was a blow....

and you then appreciate everything you did have and everything you acquire now....its a character building thing and a live lesson.....

these are good things
