The BLACK dot is the tell all indicator that you have posted to the thread.
 = New replies to this thread that you have posted to, and if it is orange, it is considered "HOT" because it has more than 15 replies
 = new replies, you've never posted to this thread, less than 15 replies in the thread
 = new replies, you've never posted to this thread and more than 15 replies in this thread
