suggestions for an event?
hey ladies...
so i need suggestions for an event our school is doing.
It is called "all sing" and we are suppose to choose a movie and sing from its soundtrack!
some ideas i have been given already are:
*shrek
*chicago
*moulin rouge
*lion king
*grease
*space jam
but i need some good ones! help a girl out.. pi love and all mine!!!

We won with our skit that featured "A Night at the Oscars" where we showed the best of Greek Life in a series of mini-skits from various movies. The emcees were "Pee Wee Herman" and "Cameron Diaz" (from her Something about Mary days). That was about 100 years ago, but it went over really well. We performed two little movie snippets from Karate Kid and Ferris Bueller's Day Off.

I would go with almost anything with a songtrack that has songs that people know & love. Two that come to mind are:
-The Big Chill
-The Jazz Singer (the 1980 version, with Neil Diamond - the discography includes:
1. America (They're Coming to America)
2. Adon Olom
3. You Baby
4. Love On The Rocks
5. Amazed And Confused
6. On The Robert E. Lee
7. Summer Love
8. Hello Again
9. Acapulco
10. Hey Louise
11. Songs Of Life
12. Jerusalem
13. Kol Nidre
14. My Name Is Yussel
15. America (Reprise)
Definitely a crowd pleaser, especially if you open or close with America!

I would go with movie musicals, like Rent or Chicago.
The reason I mentioned Rent is because the play is extremely popular and the movie did fairly well, plus there are quite a few songs that you could chose that aren't "controversial", but you are a college so it's gonna be different. I mean Seasons of Love and Will I are some of the best songs (and the other great song is a guy song though)
Definately love the idea of Chicago.

it has to be 7 minutes, i think we are doing forrest gump, or space jam... most likely forrest gump!!! woohoooo

Forrest Gump has some GREAT songs!! And the segues should be easy to handle - good luck!!
