Shelacious,

The book is actually a diary that Angela kept while in college..its all about her days as a bcs (broke college student)..the things she did to get by..ya know get food, books etc. It kept me laughing out loud..being that we are all students (or have been students for those lucky enough to have graduated) I know it will be appreciated..

hoping flor blue,
shanna

Another book that is wonderful..actually I rank it right up there with The Miseducation of the Negro (which I know we all have a cherished copy of) is The Debt: What America owes to Blacks by Randall Robinson. If you have not already done so..BUY IT..READ IT..LIVE IT..DO IT!!

For some reason I was very upset with Sorority Sisters. It was written so blan, and I guess since you knew what organizations each person was...kind of made it fit into the stereotype of the "pinkroom."

I, too, was disappointed with Sorority Sisters. The characters were not very well developed, and the plot was just...shallow. *shrug* I suppose it could bring back a few memories for some sorority members, but since I am not, the book just fell flat for me.

I thought it was interesting. I liked how there were several different stories in one. I agree that it could have been better developed but it wasn't that bad. That is only the second book I've read about sororities. The other one was Sister Secrets and that was really BAD.

I've actually met the author of Sorority Sisters. She is a wonderful person. She actually told a group of us that this was her first writing effort and that she wasn't really "ready" when she wrote the book. I think she is very talented and that her writing will just get better with time. She also has a book of poetry published...unfortunately, the name of it escapes me right now.

Question

Question,

Can anybody recommend another book by Sista Souljah? I know many of you have read The Coldest Winter Ever and I am wondering if her previous or follow-up books are just as interesting. Thanks!
