Slim Pickings for the Sistas?

Here are the lamentations of one single Black woman:

I don't ask nothing of a man that I can't give. I want a working man...I'm a working woman. I want a man that can hold an intelligent conversation....I can do that. You see where I'm going with this.

Now, I know that it's easier for you to be like 'Well take a look in the mirror' and I'm not saying that I don't have things that need to be worked on BUT, the dating pool for black women is a shame. White women got it made...there are so many eligible bachelors for them, they can have their pick of mates AND white men ain't afraid to get married! How many babydaddy/babymama couples and "shacking up" couples do you know? More than a few, I'd bet.

On the other hand, how many women do you know who are striking out in the game of love? Decent black women that can't find decent black men. THOUSANDS, MILLIONS....why you think you got the Iyanlas and the Star Joneses and all these women trying to help these black women be "content with being single"? Because the truth and the reality is that they most likely will be single for the rest of their lives or that if they DO find a suitable mate, there's gonna be more than a few things they're gonna have to "accept"....everyone has flaws, don't get me wrong. But don't you think it's more than just coincedence that there's all these fine, working, churchgoing, GOOD black women out there who can't find decent men?

And we're not being picky! Shoot, I'll accept the fact that you may have a kid or kids...I've got them too! Hard times..hey that's OK, I've been there! We're willing to accept, forgive, overlook and work with these shiftless bums, and we STILL can't come up on nothing decent.

You think that's just "the way it is"?

NO, it's because like I said earlier, 99% of the black men out here ain't S HIT. You'd be better off, IMO exploring outside of your race. Sistas is out there mixing it up left and right and I ain't mad at them.

Shoot, at least get SOME happiness outta life. I won't settle for one of these crabs...I'll get me a white or Hispanic man in a minute, and keep steppin.

So, do you all agree with this woman's accessment or think she's been hurt and is just venting?

Do we as Black women have it bad when it comes to dating?
