Take it and then drop it when something better comes along.

It sounds like an ideal situation- they're giving you the okay to do it on a trial basis.
If you need the money, you have to work. It isn't like you're selling crack to third graders or giving hand jobs on the corner to make ends meet. It's a job, with some opportunity.
You said it yourself, you're desparate for a paycheck. Take it.

The gentleman was very laid back about the offer. I'd take it. But make a plan where you give yourself a deadline by when you'd expect to get the promotion to where you'd want to be. From there, you can plan when you'd put your resume back into circulation if things don't pan through there.
Your resume will look better if there aren't long gaps between jobs.

You may need the money, but hold out-- if you start working full time you will have neither the time nor the flexibility to find the right job.
If your gut is telling you this isn't the right opportunity, then go with your gut.
Talk to your husband about the situation and see where you can cut corners in your spending until you do find the right job. You moved for his career promotion-- he should be rallying for you to find a great and satisfying job that meets your financial needs and supports your personal growth. As long as you are aggressively persuing this goal, you should land the job that feels right and pays the bills.

Are you starting law school in the fall? If so, take the job until then. If you hate it, quit.

I go with the "gut feeling" thing.

Okay, so the firm I was waiting to hear back from called me this morning. They have someone else coming in tomorrow for an interview, but they want me to come back to talk to them one more time. I am meeting them on my lunch break. I spoke w/ the gentleman this morning, and he said to call about an hour before the time we've set to meet and we'll pick a location to meet for lunch.
My question is this: do I need to wear a suit? They know I'm working somewhere temporarily, but should I take the time to change? I don't know where I would change (unless I got nekkid in my car!) before I left b/c I don't feel comfortable changing here. The attire I wear here is business casual.
Thoughts please.

If you can take clothing in a bag with you and go into a bathroom anywhere else, you could change. I personally don't think it's necessary (I showed up at many interviews in business casual) but if you'd like just do it.
Or you could lie and pretend you have a sorority thing that day and that's why you're all dressed up.

What's so bad about changing in the car?

For once I agree with Rudey...dress up for work and say you have a sorority thing if anything...and gives you an excuse to wear your pin.

I went out last night and bought a pants suit (it helps that I recently started working part-time at ATLoft and got a nice discount). I wore the pants and the shirt to work, and will run out to my car to get the jacket before the interview.

That would have been my solution too.....
