When you find the answer, let me know, okay?
Without getting up on a soapbox, let me just say this - it takes someone special to be an Alpha Xi Delta. And something I've learned (or rather - something my advisor has beat into my head) is that 18 year old girls are stupid, and they dont know what they are getting themselves into, and at the first sign of "oh my god this kinda sucks" they flee for the hills because it's easier than toughing it out. (Okay - so my advisor didnt quite say it that way - but thats the way I interpretted it, because its the only way I can comprehend the fact that 18 year olds are just stupid)
In the same respect - during recruitment - we dont have the TIME to emphasis "this is a lifetime commitment" - you can certainly try - but then you'll seem like a bunch of hard@$$es. and who REALLY wants to make THAT kind of decision in less than a week? A problem we ran into last year is that we made sure we let the girls know the financial aspect of it - because we had 2 girls quit the previous summer for "financial reasons"...so it was a big deal to us that we NOT lose any more girls because they couldnt afford it. Unfortunately for us, the other sorority DIDNT mention the first thing about finances to their girls until AFTER they joined - and they trumped us by getting 3 times the number of girls we did. But guess what? By the end of Fall semester, they had lost 3 of them for that very reason.
It's really too bad that not every girl can be 100% about it. But lets face it, girls just dont like each other. Thats what cat fights are for.

Whoever came up with the concept of sororities must have been off their rocker! Hah.
Okay okay - big dawgs out there dont get all huffy, I'm saying it in good fun.
