ZPB Founders
I have a question regarding the founding of your organization. I've visited your official website many times and I was just wondering if someone could tell me why the founders of your organization felt the need to establish Zeta Phi Beta. What did they want to achieve that wasn't already achieved by Deltas or AKAs? Forgive my ignorance, if the answer is not mine to have, I understand. I just want to find out more information about your wonderful organization and this would help me out a lot. What were your founders looking for in an organization? Thanks for any information!

Wynnna that is a question I have asked myself many many times, but I have yet to come up with a good enough excuse for their existence. The only thing I can think of is "Get in where you fit in" and if you don't fit anywhere...you start your own org.

Hope, don't come in to our forum with your negativity. The reason for our founding is OUR business, not yours. We don't need an 'excuse' for our existence. Hop along to the sorority's forum that you are interested in. Thank You.

ZetaAce what is the problem? What negativity are you talking about? I merely stated my opinion, this is a public form dear if you can't take other peoples opinion make you should create a private Zeta form. Peace

If you don't see the need for Zeta's existence than you shouldn't see the need to come in our forum. We don't appreciate negativity by anyone in here.

ZetaAce (and Zetas in general),
I'm sure you know that I had no negative implications in my original question. I KNOW that your organization was not founded because your founders did not "fit in" anywhere else. My question was a sincere one, in that, I wanted to know what your founder's goals were and how they differed from those of Delta and AKA. I now know that this is privileged information and I respect that.
I've read in other forums and threads that some people believe that internet interests ask questions that they know they should not ask. I would like to apologize for my ignorance and if I've ever offended anyone with my questions. I attend a community college, am the first person in my family to attend college, and do not know ANY BGLO members. So, my only means of obtaining information is through my personal research, which I do a lot of.
Anyway, thanks ZetaAce and everyone else for helping me out and putting me on the right track and doing it in such a nice, professional way.

Peace & Blessings
Ladies...there is no reason for the "Chill" that's going on here.
ZetaAce, yes our reasons for existence are Sacred and private...
Hope, your response did not hit the mark but, your opinion is exactly that.
Wynna, the answer is simple...My Founders, while attending Howard University (my alma mater)respected the already established Black Sororities but they obviously DID NOT offer the ideals that my Founders sought in a Sisterhood. Yes, there are things that my Founders could have contributed/brought to AKA and DST but, evidentally, there was no window or seeing eye to eye on those contributions.
Needless to say, I have the utmost Respect for my Sister BGLOs but I chose the right organization for me to spend the rest of my life Serving.
I hope that I answered yor question, befitting a manner in which my Founders would be proud.

SapphireSensation- Z-Phi Soror! Thank you for your response. It was very eloquent (not that I would expect anything else!) I don't like to see negativity in any of the forums and especially not in this one.
Wynna- I know that you were not trying to infer anything negative in your post. You did not offend anyone and above all you are not ignorant! Yes sometimes people ask things they know they shouldn't, but I didn't think this was the case.

Zeeeeeeeee-Phi
Sorors.....
Let us also remember that when we deal with various types of ignorance, we must add and always maintain DIGNITY & FINESSE.
These pages are open and obviously, those who sign-on have no problem with browsing through other's sections. Frankly, if you're not leaving a message for a Zeta or posing a question to ZPhiB specifically, you have no business on here...that's my opinion and I'm sticking to it.
Remember, we must always REPRESENT Zeta well!!!!!

Soror ZetaAce,
You were right on the head with your response to the young lady who was out of place(sister friend Hope). Yes, this is a public forum, but the question the young lady had was not directed at the "public" it was directed at certified,
card carrying member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc., not a negative GDI. Yes there is a need for a chill up in here. I am tired of GDIs coming up in here and just taking over without Sorors putting these sista friends in their place. If some info was meant for the general public believe me you will find the info on our International website, in booklets, on personal webpages and just by going up to a lady of ZPB and asking general questions about the organization. I welcome questions from interested young ladies, but not negative reponses from GDIs.

Wynna,
No need to be sorry. My post was directed at Hope, who for a minute or two forgot she is not a member of ZPB and should not have answered a question that was not directed to her. Ask any question you want, that is how you learn. The only stupid question is the unasked question. If it is not for you to know you will be told just that in a most sisterly and professional manner. Now as for negative responses from GDIs, all bets are off, you spit out negative be prepared to get some negative in return. You see this is not only a problem here in this forum, all of the BGLOs are dealing with this problem. No matter what has been said in this forum, no matter how negative some folks have been, my Sorors have been kind and professional. But at some point we need to start putting folks in their place when it comes to Zeta business. We don't have to get down right nasty, but we sure can speak up for ourselves in a most sisterly and professional style.

Much love to all the ladies of Zeta Phi Beta. I am glad you feel that the only stupid question is a question that goes unasked. Too bad all greek members do not feel this way. As far as this dummie HOPE what was the point in that. I am an interest(pursuing membership in DST) and GDI and I really hate it when people say stupid things like that. I am sure it is some people that are probably trying to come up with a good excuse for your existance HOPE. I know some of these ladies are at least wondering why you bothered to come into their forum and dash a little ignorance on it. It is a good thing that they are great and mature as they are otherwise they would have told you a few things.....................I know I do not have to tell you ladies that your org wonderful and magnificent, but I will anyway......Your org is wonderful and magnificent! I must apologize for some of my GDI counterparts
