EC question

When does your EC meet, and for how long? I just want to find out what other chapters are doing. If my girls want to make changes, I can then say, Well other chapters have tried this.....

Iota Zeta EC meets for an hour just before chapter on Sunday, with a 1/2 break between EC and chapter.

We used to meet every single week, and it seemed redundant, because at that point, there were 5 members on exec, and 8 membrs in the entire chapter. SO Fall 2005 semester, Exec was cut down to only 3 members - President/CLVP, Membership and FVP/Secretary. The 3 of us met once a month to discuss BIG stuff, and it worked okay, but after elections in November (EC now has 4 members - because financial and Secretary are not the same person anymore), the new EC decided that the ball got dropped on alot of things when we only met once a month, so for Spring Semester, the plan is to meet twice a month. We feel that every week is too much for EC, but once a month was not enough - so this twice a month thing is a new thing we're gonna try to see if it balances out and works good for us.

Our EC meets every sunday at 8 after council meeting. Now how long it takes, well depends on what they have talk about. Sometimes they have stay there for hours. Not sure why and don't want to find out.

Our exec meets on Monday afternoon, generally right before meeting from 5-5:45/6pm, and if we are done at 5:45, we get a small break between exec and chapter. If there is something major to be discussed, which occasionally happens, we move it to earlier in the afternoon. Last year, exec ran for forever and a day. It was on a Sunday night with nothing to stop it from running for hours upon end.

Thank you ladies! I appreciate the feedback. When we meet on Sunday each officer recaps teh highlights from her council meeting, fills us in on what she will announce during chapter, we plan votes, and discuss business that EC needs to address. I like having it right before chapter because we have a built-in time limit.

I think that's a definite plus.
