Unhappy Sad News - Theta Omicron closed

It was reported on the website that the Theta Omicron Chapter at Whitman closed in May. How sad.

That is sad news. I always take the news of these closings so personally, it seems. I just can't figure out why EVERYONE wouldn't want to be a Tri Delta.

Gamma Nu at Westminister College has also closed.

Does anyone know why these two chapters have closed??? That makes at least three closings in the past month or so.

Gamma Nu was my chapter. Basically we had recurring numbers problems. I could say other things, but that's what it boils down to.

However, we went out our own way. Within the past school year, the ladies of Gamma Nu were a positive source of change within the Greek system. Women's recruitment was restructured to make it less formal and more pnm focused. We won a special challenge during Greek Week to earn an additional $100 for our philanthropy budget. Our ladies won the Greek portion of the school talent show to earn us another large sum of money. We won the Greek Challenge (highest percentage of alumni members donating money to the school) and were honored to receive the Drosten Cup, which is Westminster's award to the social organization with the strongest service program.

Gamma Nu exited active status like ladies. I'm not happy with EO's decision, but I'm very proud of what we acheived and only regret that we do not have the chance to set our sights even higher as a chapter.

You are rightfully proud of your chapter's accomplishments. Your house worked to make the most out of your time and to leave a strong legacy.
I know a lot of us were disappointed to hear of EO's decision to close Gamma Nu. However, I hope that you and your sisters will bring your energy and enthusiasm to alumnae membership. We always need ladies with your creativity and commitment.
