Thread for guys . . lets plan a wedding
Ok guys, i am not suggesting that we grow effeminate or anything but I do think that males are just as capable if not more in planning a wedding.
So, i know there are only a few of us, but feel free to describe in detail what you think a functional wedding would entail.
ETA: You could also take it as a challenge to plan a wedding that us, guys, would like.

As James just pointed out - I'm not a guy. But I do have a guy themed wedding story. So here it goes.
I once heard on Bob and Sherri that a couple met at a football game, so football was like their on going love affection towards each other. So on game day, err, I mean wedding day - the bridesmaids hiked down the aisle. The preacher wore a ref outfit and so did the dad. Also the colors wore of that NFL team they liked.
I thought that was fun.

In my wedding, I got to choose one of the flowers, and I get to pick the groom's cake. I also chose the venue. Other than that, I want no part in it. While it's fun, it's also a huge waste of money. I'd rather have those paying for the wedding give us cash so we could either invest it or put it into a house.
Predictably, this opinion gets me dirty looks from the fiancée.

Been there, done that, got the ring to prove it. Of course, my wife probably did most of it, but I helped...

When the party is over, I will tape my friends having sex with their new brides. I've spoken to the potential video editors about this and we feel a DVD (wide-screen) that's distributed a week later would be a wonderful keepsake of the occasion.

UKDaisy,
When my big brother got married it was a similiar deal. He took out his girlfriend to a Texas Rangers game on their first date. When he proposed to her he did it over the big screen at a baseball game. The wedding reception was held at the Diamond Club at the Rangers stadium. They handed out baseballs for wedding gifts at each guest's table. The baseballs had their names and the wedding date engraved.
