Navy JAG Movie

When I was in London two weeks ago several of my cousin's friends asked me if I knew when the new Navy JAG Movie was going to be released. I didn't even know that one was in production. Apparently, according to what was said, they got most of the cast back together and shot some of it in London where Harm was assigned to be the Command JAG at HQ Navy Europe (even though Navy Europe moved to Naples several months ago) when the TV series ended. They said that a film crew spent several days shooting background scenes at the North Audley Street building that had been the HQ, along with shots at several locations in London. Story line is that Admiral Chegwidden did not retire but was transferred back to Surface Line Officer status and given command of Sixth Fleet (our fleet based in Europe) as a Vice Admiral. Harm is a Captain and chief counsel at the HQ and Mac is active in the Marine Reserve as a Colonel (Select). She is also involved with "other government agencies best known by their initials". Gunny is now the Sergeant Major of the Marine Guard detachment at the embassy in London and also works with Mac and these other government agencies. The word was that this is the first of a planned series of movies much like the Star Trek movies after the series left the air (at least as original shows).
There is a terrorist threat theme and some court room drama involving sailors caught up in several realistic scenarios. Towards the end of the script LCDR Bud Roberts finally gets back after being certified fully fit for duty and joins Harm as his deputy. His brother Mike is now an Ensign and is VADM Chegwidden's Aide. A reference is made to Mick Brumby having been killed in a terrorist attack in Australia and, of course, Mac gets the perps as they try to lay low in London. She had moved on from that relationship but was still deeply hurt and enraged by his murder by terrorists. Nice touch and a nice tribute to him. They tell me his character is reported to have died trying to rescue civilians from a bomb site when he is hit by a secondary blast set to take out emergency aid workers. Nice guys, these terrorists. Anyway, I have looked around the web trying to find out some more info and turned up dry. Any Navy Jag fans out there know anything? Seems like a lot of the story was leaked to stir up interest but I have seen nothing about it here in the States.

I don't know...there's no information about this on IMDB. However, I did hear that they're releasing the first set of DVDs (Season 1) some time in 2006.

Paragraphs are your friend.

If only being JAG in real life was nearly as exciting as they show it on TV and in the movies.

Me too. JAG was one of my favorite shows.

BTW, if you look back at the thread when the show ended, my speculation, in jest, was that when Harm and Mac got married, she would resign her commission in the regular Marines and move to London with Harm and join the Reserves and work with Harm on special missions.

I'd love to see some JAG movies.

I've Googled it a couple of times and checked the JAG and Paramount websites and can't find anything about an upcoming movie, special or series of either.

Yeah, I was a bit concerned when I couldn't find any info here in the States, but the gang in the UK were really spun up over the upcoming movie and talked about location background shots in London and story line leaks in the UK media. I wonder if the studio/producers were floating a trial concept in a major syndication market to see if there was sufficient international interest in going ahead with the project. I sure hope so as I really enjoyed the series.
