14 Days Till I Get Married

I am counting down the days now until I get married. Many of you know the drama planning this wedding has been. We've been through our ups & downs. I think we've endured far too many obstacles but we've survived & we're now on the last leg before we take the plunge. We got our marriage license this morning so that has me excited. I have the dress hanging over my closet at home. My shoes are ready & waiting as well as my tiara & I've yet to see my veil b/c a cousin of Mike's is making it for me. I still need to get my bridal underwear & garter but that should be relatively easy.
I have to go today & plan the final menu as well as pay the remaining balance on the wedding.
We will be serving the following food at the wedding:

New Orleans Spicy Andouille Sausage
Grilled Rosemary-Lemon Chicken
Bow Tie Pasta w/diced tomato, olive oil, basil, & fresh parmesan cheese
Green Beans Almondine
Salad w/Raspberry Vinaigrette dressing
Rolls
Open Bar
Coffee station

I finally found an outfit for my mom that both she & I can agree on. It's a black & silver satin pant suit. It's perfect. Mike's mom will be wearing a black and silver dress so they both coordinate. I still need to get gifts for my bridesmaids but I don't know what to get them. Oy. It feels like there's still so much to do & time is running out. I did get some good news. One of my flower girls lives in Georgia & we were afraid she would be unable to attend but she will be here for the wedding.

I'll update the progress since I'm getting close.

Sorry for the crash, but just wanted to share.. my sister got us this book and a bracelet that matched our dresses. it was a very cute gift.

My sister gave the bridesmaids bags with nice smelling lotions & things inside. She also bought plain sandals & personalized them for each of us to wear at the reception (since she knew our feet would be in pain from the wedding!)

When I was maid of honor at my friend's wedding, she gave us all little individual perfume bottles. Maybe something like that?

Anyway, congratulations on your wedding! I know it's easy to say 'don't sweat the small stuff', but I'd imagine it's the worst time of all to stress out.

BTW, the menu sounds great! I hope the andouille is the real stuff from Louisiana--my neck of the woods!

Sorry to crash.

A gift I've usually received as a bridesmaid is coordinating jewelry ,such as earrings and or a necklace, that works with the dresses. That way everyone matches and has a consistent look.

I like the idea of that book mu_agd.

Thanks everyone! I got that book when I was my friends maid of honor at her wedding along w/a picture frame that she later put a photo of both of us at her wedding. I also love the idea of the sandals for later if and when their feet get tired. I think I'll get myself a pair too.

Anyway, I never realized that my emotions would be so strong & close to the surface. I completely broke down yesterday for what seemed to be the dumbest reason. Mike & I were making salsa & I looked up and started to yell at him. Then I burst into tears and cried on the couch for 20 minutes while the poor guy was confused. The reason I blew up at him? I thought he was chopping the onions to big. I can't believe something so dumb caused me to lose my head completely. I feel crazy. 11 more days.

3 days until my wedding!

Things are happening so fast I feel like my head is spinning. Oh boy. I now have to drop off the last of the $$$ for the flowers, chaircovers, & the photographer. I hope to do that when I leave work today. I also have to buy the shawl I saw that I really loved to wear b/c it's going to be cold on the yacht in my strapless dress.
