"pledgee"?
Did/does any GLO use the term "pledgee"? I ran into someone on another forum saying that and had never heard it before (this person was claiming to be Greek but bashed Greeks in their entire post, so..). Pledge, yes, but not pledgee.

I've heard it used in the Northeast, but nowhere else. That's entirely anecdotal of course.

I have never heard called someone "pledgee". It's either "Pledge" or "Associate Member". Those are the most common used words.

Okay, I have heard this before but I think it's relatively rare. Even Google wanted me to mean "sorority pledge" or "fraternity pledge" instead of pledgee. There were some Google results for "pledgee" yet I can't help but think people are using the word because it includes "pledge" and they are using "pledgee" in contrast to a "pledger" but have it backwards.
In a general sense (outside of Greekdom) "pledgee" actually means to whom a pledge is made or given. That's different than if it was to mean someone who makes the pledge. For Greekdom, our fraternities and sororities would be the pledgees and the person making the pledge would be the pledger. Correct?
Don't fret, I didn't invest as much time as it seems in this topic. The world is ending.

We spell it pledgie, but yeah, we say that. Plural: pledgies.

That would be a different word than pledgee.
"Fishie" vs "inductee" .

I've heard members of BGLOs use the term colloquially. Google "Dean of Pledgees" with the quotes.

We used it briefly, but it was teasing one of the pledges who got words wrong easily. It was used affectionately, though.
