Coke, Santa and the Bears

Well. the topic on my radio this am was that Coke seems to be abaondoning using Santa Claus in its commericals...focusing on the polar bears. Boy was there lot of upset Coke drinkers who may be switching to Pepsi.

By the time I turned off my radio, no Coke exec had phoned in to say whether Santa was on a Coke break or breakdown.

I love the polar bears. When I read the title of this thread, I thought it was going to be about discontinuing the polar bears. I would have been sad. I don't really care about not having Santa in the coke commercials. He's going to be depicted in a hundred other commercials. I'd rather see something a little different...like baby polar bears.

Off on a tangent, but has anyone seen the Zales jewelry commercials where Santa is buying a ring or earrings for Mrs. Claus? She goes "Oh, Chris." Oh, Chris??!!?? Santa's name is Chris??? Shouldn't she be saying "Oh, Santa" or "Oh, Nick" (as in St. Nick)? Or is there another name for the big jolly guy that I don't know about?

I thought this was going to be a thread about the other coke, Santa, and da Chicago Bears.

I like the polar bears and I think Santa's cute. I doubt they'll completely abandon Santa though.

When I was little, I was completely upset about Santa (being Jewish) so my dad told me that he was also the Channukah Fairy.

But back to the subject: I would rather have the polar bears. They can be used all winter, not just in December.

I LOVED the Santa on the Coke packaging. I like the polar bears too but I loved the commercial with Santa though.

Oh well

Same here. Not so much the Chicago Bears, but I definitely thought the OTHER coke at first. Hmm.... I wonder if that says something?

OMG, clearly I was having a brain fart. I didn't even think Kris Kringle. Hahaha, thanks...that would've driven me crazy.

I liked the "Santa Packs are coming" commercials from a long time ago.

Great, now I have that jingle in my head. "Santa packs are coming...santa packs are coming..." Anyway, I love the bears, especially the 'lil baby cubs. If they stop using the Santa completely, I'll get over it.

As long as they stop putting the penguins and the polar bears together, I'm cool.

Don't you enjoy a Coke with your favorite snack?
The bears do too!

That's pretty cool! Is it a Coke promotion or just the building where you live?

My mother's cousins always had a "Channukah Bush"!

Pixell, what a lovely idea!! That's absolutely precious!! *suddenly feels like a Coke*

I like the polar bears, even though they're supposedly mean critters. I wouldn't be opposed to penquins, either - but as DolphinChicaDDD says, just not in the same ad. I try not to drink any carbonated beverages, but when I do, it's a Coke!

I'm tired of the bears. Time to try something else.
