Childhood Fights
Reading Tony, Abaici, and FeeFee's posts in the Random Spurts thread about fights had me reminisce on the ONLY fight I was ever in besides fighting my brother.
Anyway, let's talk about fights.
Were you the instigator? part of the crowd? one always fighting? one always getting beat up, lol?
REMINISCE!!

I was usually part of the crowd. I have been in only one fight all my life. It was against this girl named Monique and we got in a fight because she sat in my swing, that's right I said MY swing and YES it did have my name on it!

as you might expect from my participation in the other thread I had a few, but really it was only fighting back. 2 scrapes stand out.
fight 1:
Art class, 4th or 5th grade, we were watching a movie and kids were throwing crayons during the movie. D. Clarke, who ran with the tough crowd of guys, got dotted in the head by a crayon he thought I threw. (I hadn't). Anyway, I didn't want to fight because A) I hadn't thrown the crayon and B) DC ran with the tough bunch, who I knew would have his back. Anyway, after school we're doing this walking fight (fighting as we're walking the 4-5 blocks home) and because I was relucant to fight for reasons A/B, I'm getting beat. That is until we got to the Sunridge Pony Keg (SPK) Candy Store. For a reason I still can't explain, something in me cocked my fist and I threw a right hand that must have come up from.... RURAL ALABAMA! I hit dude so hard he screamed and crumpled to the ground. I looked at my hand like "dayum, I did that?" DC missed school 3 days. ....(I sheepishly admit that sometimes, when I go home to visit fam, if I'm in the area I'll slow my roll going past the SPK; a secretive, yet wistful rememberance of the day ...DC got that azz whupped!!!!)
fight 2:
This really EMBARRASSED me, because we were high school juniors, too damn old to be fighting. Anyway, we were playing two different (adjacent) basketball games in the gym. I was running north in one game, and B. Hill (now my Alpha bruh) was running south in the other game. Not seeing each other, we collided fairly hard. He jumped up and starts swinging. I truly didn't want to fight but, hey, he brought war to my house. So I had no choice but to take a can of whup-azz to his.
and yes, that was the last fight I ever had and/or intend to have.
...I assumed we were just talking about school fights, not buck-bucks with hard-head cousins, right?!?

My only fight was with a girl named Monique too! Well, it lasted two punches. I talked a lot of mess. Mouth always writing checks my behind couldn't cash. I think I said something about her cousin, or maybe her. I can't remember. Anyway, she confronted me, I retorted. My friends kept trying to take off my glasses and this allowed her to "steal" on me. She hauled off and "socked" me HARD. Anyway, I had my cabbage patch lunchbox in my hand. I took it back and knocked her upside her big head with it. It broke. I was left holding a handle. That was it...the end.
Usually, I was a part of the crowd...or I just walked past it.

The only person I would constantly fight (I mean from elementary school until 7th grade) was my best friend, who is my daughter's God-mother. I mean we would be cool for like 3 months straight, but on the 4th month or so, something would happen and we would get the scrapping. Sometimes she won, sometimes I won.
It's funny how we tell folks this and they are shocked and amazed that we are still friends to this day (we are both in our early 30's).
I guess fighting with her was like fighting with a sibling. We were both raised as only children although we have half-siblings on our father's side. It also didn't help that we lived in the same building and her mother used to babysit me while my mother worked in the evening.
Since she was the only person that I really fought, I was a spectator during any other fights going on in the 'hood (the projects).

My only childhood fights were in high school. The 1st fight was when I was a freshman at Atlantic City HS. This girl named Stacy wanted to fight me because she liked my boyfriend!!! He was one of the finest boys in our school. Well.....sister-girl came into my science class and started some mess with me. She was yelling and acting a fool....saying how she was going to F me up. Then she tried to swing on me when I turned my to her. I saw RED!!!!!!! I reared off and punched her soooo hard in the face that I knocked her tooth out!!!!! Not to mention that I did some serious damage to my hand. After that she never bothered me again!!!!
The 2nd was happened after I transfered to Allentown HS. It was my senior year!!! This girl (I don't even remember her name) came to fight me on my last day of school before graduation!!! It was over her current boyfriend who was my ex. She was mad because he kept talking about me!!! Can I tell you we broke up during my junior year and I had no contact with him at all. She came up to me all nice and then flipped out. Screaming about how she was sick of hearing about me!!! When I tried to calm her down she slapped me!!! So...after I got over the shock I punched her in the stomach. While she bent over in pain....I sort of gave her a upper cut to the face. Needless to say she had a hella black eye........

My fight was a big fight on the school bus. Her name was Adrienne. She said something about me or my mother but fists got to flying. It's hard fighting on a moving school bus. I guess it was a sight for other drivers to see two girls fighting over the seat of a schoolbus going down the Kennedy Expressway. The bus driver had to pull onto the shoulder to separate us. She tried to land one last punch but it hit this guy so he stole on her! It was a mess.
BTW I also hit someone with my lunchbox. I was falling down an escalator and a kid tried to help me but my Mickey Mouse lunch box whacked him in the forehead and we both ended up at the bottom of the escalator.

Yup, the very same Monique. To BOTH OF OUR CREDIT, we were the puppets in a sick twisted plot by a girl we were both friends with named TOMEKA. Tomeka started some she said she said stuff that NEITHER OF US EVER SAID. We fought in front of a very small crowd. The worst part was we lost like 4 years of friendship. But we're okay now!!

My most memorable fight was with this chick (who's new best friend is the pipe) named Beverly. People thought that because I was quiet and I didn't like to fight meant that I couldn't fight. WRONG
Well Beverly kept messing with me until I just got sick and asked her if she wanted to throw down. So the heffa slapped me....and that was the last thing SHE remembered. I was best described in school as "The one with the glasses and long finger nails." I put her into a headlock and dug my nails as deep into her face as I could. When she started to cry, let go of her and kicked her onto the floor.
The second most memorable was this clown named James. James liked me, but instead of him passing notes like the other little boys he would always call me names or throw things at me. So I got tired of his arse and since I had an inch over him I grabbed him into a headlock(yes a specialty my big brother taught me) and repeatedly banged his head up against the lockers until I got tired. James was laughed at by his peers and I was high fived and needless to say that was the last time anyone messed with me in middle school or even high school for that matter.
