Beta back at U. Iowa

From the Beta Theta Pi website:
============================
Beta is back at Iowa
(Posted: 07-Oct-05)
Alpha Beta returned to the University of Iowa this fall through a 28-day re-colonization period facilitated by the General Fraternity. A three-man recruitment team pledged 24 members in late September to complete the re-founding father class for the new colony.
The class consists of one senior, four juniors, seven sophomores and 12 freshmen. They maintain a 3.45 cumulative grade point average, which is well above the all-fraternity average of 2.855 and the all-men’s average of 2.872.

The colony also represents the following honors and activities:

Homecoming king
Senior Class president
2 Residence Hall assistants
2 valedictorians
US Naval Academy invitee
Varsity team captains
All-State Academic athlete
National Scholars
Presidential Scholarship recipients
Silver Cord Volunteer Award recipient
Alpha Beta is now guided by a capable core of nine advisors including Chapter Counselor Jim Trigilio, Delta Chi Director of Chapter Services Matt Killingsworth and Adrian Araguas, a founding father at San Diego, to name a few.

The recruitment team consisted of Leadership Consultant David Cox, Southern Illinois ’05, Director of Operations and Education Jeff Rundle, Kansas State ’03 and Director of the Expansion and Recruitment JB Scherpelz, Miami ’05. Cox will work with the nine-person advisory team mentoring the colony throughout the education process.

“We have full support and the University is looking to us for leadership in the Greek Community and campus at large,” reported Cox.

The initiation ceremony is scheduled for Saturday, November 12, 2005.
