Univ. of British Columbia Recruitment

Piggybacking off Taualumna and AAgammagirl, I thought I'd start a thread for the University of British Columbia's Recruitment.

Recruitment started on September 7 and ends (tomorrow - hallelujah!) September 17. This year, UBC will be using the new NPC release figures. There are seven NPC sororities on the campus:

Alpha Delta Pi
Alpha Gamma Delta
Alpha Phi
Delta Gamma
Gamma Phi Beta
Kappa Alpha Theta
Kappa Kappa Gamma

Going into recruitment, no chapters were at total (lots of graduates last year). Chapter size ranges from 30-39 members.

142 women registered for "Get Involved UBC" (recruitment), and at last count, 138 remain. We only had two rounds leading up to pref this year, so that, coupled with the new release figures, meant that cuts were severe early on for most of the chapters.

Right now, the quota range is 15-18. I will post more tomorrow after I recover from Pref/Bids Day.

Quota = 14. We had a lot of no-shows and a lot of drop outs. As of this morning, only 104 women remained.

Alpha Delta Pi = 14
Alpha Gamma Delta = 14 + 1 quota addition
Alpha Phi = 14
Delta Gamma = 14
Gamma Phi Beta = 14 +1 quota addition
Kappa Alpha Theta = 14 +2 quota additions
Kappa Kappa Gamma = 11

It was kind of an unusual year because of the new release figures. The campus also had a number of women who didn't sign bid cards, and who single intentional preferenced chapters - which meant that for the first time in ages, there were women who did not match at UBC (this almost never happens).

14 sounds kind of a low quota for a school w/ 7 sororities. Are the recruitment numbers usually that low?

Out of curiosity, what is the avg. chapter size?

Yay for ADPi making quota!!!! Kudos to everyone else too

Thumbs up

CONGRATULATIONS to each of the UBC chapters on a FANTASTIC recruitment!!

texas*princess,
Over the last few years, FR quota has ranged from 14 to 20. Unless it has changed, campus total is 50, with a few chapters now just over that with their new members ... chapter size should now range from low 40s to low-mid 50s.

From fall 03 to last year, there were 8 chapters on campus (Theta re-colonized in Fall 03 & DPhiE has since closed).

COR will begin on Monday the 26th with a very cool all-sorority philanthropy/informal recruitment event ...
