Anyone do TF?
Just wondering how many chapter out there do TF...If you know what TF is then you know the symbolism to it. As for myself, my chapter does it and i appreciate it alot because it brings our brothers closer together more then anything, plus also a good reason to get drunk afterwards...

TF
we did TF in spring '57 and I saw it many times on the road. When done right it is as memorable as a Masonic funeral, to
be cherished a lifetime.
Then some guys fucked it all up.
It was an almost 'holy' thing gone wrong. Too bad.

TF is actually a banned ritual now... although must chapters continue to do it because nobody really knows... it was banned because some got injured during it and international got in trouble for having hazing.

Thats a disapointment. TF is actually a great experience, and although some chapters that i know of keep it like the old ways of hazing, (which i must say is not an experience of brotherhood during a moment like TF), but i do believe that the brotherhood bond grows deeper during TF...

That's bullshit. I'll never EVER forget that experience. EVERY Teke should go through it.

well every tke should until theres a tke that goes through it and gets hit in the head with a brick inside a pillow case... then nobody should just in case...

Thats juss out of control then. The weeks of pledging is the time for the pledges to learn best, but the moment at TF or any other brotherhood event, shouldnt be taken to that level.

Hazing
I gather by posts that some of you think the "old" TF involved
hazing. Not so. Not so by a long shot. It was a very dignified
structured event and taken very seriously. Then some yahoos
from the east decided it was cute to screw it up. From that point
on we got a bum steer. Perhaps it might be recoverable. It
was a touching, poignant part of an otherwise bilious era. TF
was a rather new entry into the TKE inventory, and even Tex Flint loved it...Founder Mayer, I do not think, ever participated. Delta
Nu chapter (always a goodie) was big on it.
We have had many different themes over the years which were
tried and failed from fire trucks, bells, skins, railroad ties, etc. but
none of them seemed to click...I think every crick (creek) in the country has a TKE bell somewhere within its waters!
