Have you ever been grounded for bad grades in middle and/or high school?
I have been grounded a few times in both middle and high school. In the eighth grade, I was grounded for the rest of the school year (3 weeks) because I brought home a progress report at the middle of the 6th six weeks stating I have a D average for that grading period. I told my psrents that everyone else was failing, but they weren't into the "everyone else" story.
I was grounded twice in my freshman year. Once after the first six weeks for bringing home a D in Pre Algebra. At that time, I was grounded for 2 weeks. Then after the 5th six weeks, I brought home 2 D's (Pre-Algebra and Spanish) and since there were 4 weeks left of the school year, I was grounded for the remainder of the school year. 2 weeks per D.
Then in my senior year, after the second six weeks, I barely passed Algebra II, a course that I needed to pass or I wouldn't graduate. After that, it was C's or better.

Honestly? No.
I never got anything less than a B in high school, and I've only recieved one C as a final grade in my life.
Hopefully that luck will carry into grad school!

Yes, I got a C and a D in 8th grade for math and science respectively. It was during the second marking period I believe (sometime during November). My mom was on the warpath.

I was grounded if I didn't bring home straight A's.
I spent most of seventh grade grounded because I couldn't get above a B in social studies. The teacher emphasized rote memorization of names, dates, places, and events, and I couldn't do it (and besides, how was knowing all 50 state capitals and all the presidents and their dates in office really going to help me get into college??). (Oddly enough, this same teacher recommended me for honors social studies for eighth grade...) I also couldn't get above a B in gym because the teacher's blanket policy was that only varsity athletes got A's. Yup, my parents had their knickers in a twist because I got a B in GYM.
I was able to hold straight A's all through high school, though. Social studies got interesting and emphasized critical thinking and debate rather than memorization, and the HS gym teacher gave everyone A's

Yep. In grade 11. I was failing biology and my parents grounded me and supervised me doing my homework until I proved to them I brought my grades up. It actually worked though. I brought my failing biology grade up from and E to a C+.

Yes a whole bunch of times. The only time she did not ground me was 11th grade for the D I made in Chemistry all year. She knew I was working my arse off in that class but I could not get it and my teacher suuuuuuuuucked.

In middle school, I was grounded for a week EVERY TIME I brought home less than a B. As a result, I never got less than a B in any subject in high school.
I've only received one C in college.

My parents knew I was hard enough on myself as it was in high school, they didn't want to stress me out further. Also I was at a private school where there was a lot more competition than there might be at a public school so my 3.7 gpa there might have been higher at a public school.

HAHA NO, my parents didn't really care that much and understood that some subjects weren't my thing. I got grounded if it was less than a C, but that wasn't passing so you didn't really get less than a C. I failed seventh grade art, but they didn't care too much about that.

I never got bad grades, so that was not an issue. However, I'm a chronic latenik, and my parents did have a problem with that...

If I did bad in a subject, my mom would just get me help if I needed it. She understood that with some teachers and subjects I was never going to do well. She just hated when I left papers for the day or two before they were due.
