Favorite baby names

Okay I am kind of bored and thought another fun thread should be started.

So what this one is, list your favorite names you would give to your baby.

Now I know some people are very secretive/protective about the names they like, so I understand some sisters not wanting to post.

I know for me I'd be flattered if another sister liked one of the names I did and named their child it.

A great site to look at names is www.babynames.com. It lists names A-Z, then celebrity names, names from movies/tv shows, and the top 25 or 50 of the year.

So now on with the thread.....

Here are some of my faves (which I know I'm forgetting some).

boys

Caleb
Jonah
Nathaniel

girls

Madison
Arwen (I know its from LOTR, but I LOVE unique names. I don't want a name everyone has)
Annikah (MY ALLTIME FAVORITE!!!!)
Phoebe (to much Charmed. LOL)
Sydney (to much Alias)
Buffy (way to much Buffy )
Daphne

Unisex

Reese
Taylor

Honey, I love the name Aiden.

If you don't mind me asking, what names does Mr. Honeychile want that you don't like?

Boys:
James Austin
Charles
Corbitt (family surname)
Sterling

Girls:
Grace
Emma Grace

These are all family names with the exception of Grace. It was my nickname when I was little because I was SOOOO clumsy. My mom would say, "There goes Grace" as I fell down, ran into the table, etc...... I am very senimental about strong family names.
I am going to love seeing everyone else's fave names!

All right, so the names I hope to someday use:

Girls:
Marissa
Rebecca

Boys:
Kevin - absolute must (no ifs, ands, or buts about it...the hubby has no say! )
Ethan
Caleb

*It's really hard for me to pick names - I don't want to use names that my cousins/aunts/uncles have used (since it's hard enough with me and my cousin's wife that have the same name), but there are SO many names I love and want to use (maybe I'll use them for middle names)

James Joseph (for his father, so I can understand)
Jeffrey (don't even get me started!!)
Jenna (the porn star's name!)
Jillian (tolerable)

Do we see a trend?

I didn't mention middle names, because they WILL be family names!

I also love Ethan, polarpi, but it's too hard to say with mr. honeychile's last name - I'd stutter continually!

ETA: Laura Lee is a combination of his mother & my mother's names, plus I've always liked it.

I didn't even consider last names, since my kids will (likely) have a hyphenated last name - when I get married (someday), I plan on dropping the second half of my hyphenated name and pick up the husband's last name. Now, if he's hyphenated, too, who KNOWS what I'll do!

Gotta keep the family last name going!

Sorry to crash...

The names we have picked out for baby number two are

Madaket Janie Elizabeth

or

Alexander Rodney

I really wanted Nan Elizabeth Marie, but daddy said no so we compromised.

The kids have a hyphenated last name of both of ours because as I pointed out the Mr. Jhujenn they do have two parents.

It's looking like we are going to be having a Madaket in August, but we will see when the baby arrives.

One of my friends had a hyphenated last name (we'll say Smith-Jones) and married someone else with a hyphenated name (we'll say Brown-Anderson). She decided to take his whole name but their first child will be Smith Jones Brown-Anderson (it sounds a lot better with the really names....very Irish )

As for me:

Girls:
Cadence Elizabeth
Ana Marie

Boys:
Forest Christopher
Andrew Ryan

So far hubby and I have agreed on two of those and are still negotiating the other two

See, I don't mind dropping my "second" last name (which is really my first - long story), so if he DID wind up having a hyphenated, it'd only be three - I just feel bad for those kids when having to sign anything with short signature lines - such as those lovely checks when paying bills!

And I LOVE your choices - so wonderful

There are sooo many names I like, however when I have kids here are the names I plan to use

Girls:
Mackenzie Adrianna
Ella Genevieve

Boys:
Zachary Nathaniel
Matthew Rockwell

I really like the name Sydney (My mother was going to name me that, but at the time nobody liked it). However, now she named the dog Sydney so it is out for me.

My hubby didn't have much say in the names, except for the 2nd boy's name. :-)

One of my 25 year old daughter's best friends is named Arwen.

When I met her about 10 years ago, I said "Oh did your parents like LOTR?" (remember this is WAY before the movie) and she said "why yes, you are the first person to get the connection". She was so tickled at last for someone to know about her name.
