Designing Women ~ Nick @ Nite Marathon in October
http://www.sitcomsonline.com/boards/...d.php?t=182756
Designing Women Launch Marathon / Roseanne Marathon
Monday, October 2 through Thursday, October 5, 2006
Designing Women launch airs 10:00 p.m. to approx. 2:00 a.m. each night, followed by Roseanne from approx. 2:00 a.m. to 6 a.m.
Join Nick@Nite to launch Designing Women! Starring Delta Burke, this show was one of the most well written comedies of the late 80s and early 90s. After the launch, catch the show Mon-Sat at midnight ET/PT and on Thursday in the late night marathons.
Designing Women is coming to Nick@Nite with a week-long launch marathon featuring the best episode of the series. Head down to Atlanta this October for a crash course in interior design! Julia Sugarbaker and her staff will teach you the do’s and don’ts so you too can be a successful designer…while keeping you in stitches.

I dunno about this one...
"Designing Women" is a kinda wierd choice for Nick at Nite IMO...even though the kiddies are in bed or one the way they may be up for the 9pm show....my daughter loves the "Different World" episodes she gets to watch ocassionally but I can't see her getting "Designing Women" at all...oh well I love the Anthony character though

I am a Designing Women fan.
Which of the "Sourthern Belles" do you identify with?
I will post my answer later.

I don't see anything wrong with Designing Women on Nick at Nite. It's not raunchy. I can see older kids liking Designing Women if they choose to watch it.
But I know I'll be checking out Designing Women.
Azul, I am a cross between Julia and Mary Jo. Julia was my favorite character overall though.

"Julia Sugarbaker the owner of Sugarbaker and Associates and is very outspoken and strong-willed."
That would be me, replace the sourthern twang with a midwestern accent

Weird and wrong are different...I like Designing Women..its a good show, I think its a weird show for Nick at Nite because there are no youthful "main" characters....the subject matter and humor is geared towards adults....Rosanne (sp) is alot more raunchy (a former N@N show I think) but there are alot of young characters on the show and alot of the episodes were geared around the problems with the kids...DW is about mid to middle age women....the average preteen can't relate to their problems IMO...but "se la vi" my kid can just continue her obession with "The Cheetah Girls" on Disney....

"C'est la vie" - the phrase is French, not Spanish.

Nick at Nite does still have Roseanne on its lineup as well as Murphy Brown which IMO is not a kid show either.
If kids chose to, they could watch Designing Women when it came on Lifetime.
Anyway, I am looking forward to seeing Designing Women added to the lineup on Nick at Nite.

I can't wait. I love that show! I was a kid when it was first on the air, and I remember watching it all the time.
I'm a a hodge podge of all the characters. I have my Suzanne moments. But, I am a bit of a Charlene as well.

Does anyone have a favorite episode?
My favorite is: "The First Day of the Last Decade of the Entire Twentieth Century"
Suzanne and Mary Jo rush Charlene to the hospital when she goes into labor on New Year's Eve and conceives a desire to deliver the first New Year's baby. Dolly Parton plays Charlene's "guardian movie star," who comes to her in a dream with news of her baby's birth".
When the theme song from An American Tail (Somewhere Out There) played I cried like a baby

Sadly, I can identify with Suzanne Sugarbaker more than I'm comfortable with. LOL I
One of my favorite episodes was when Suzanne was modeling this fur overcoat for a design charity show and these people from PETA were there harassing her. And of course when she shot Anthony. Or when she wanted enter Charlene's baby in a beauty pageant and bought her a baby wig. LOL
I'll be watching.
