Wow! How did you end up with two very demanding positions? lol. There are some threads that cover this topic, but below are some things my chapter, and others on campus, have done for social events/fundraising events.
Social-
"Welcome back BBQ" and "Have a great summer BBQ"- Our chapter won an event on campus with prize money, so eboard voted to purchase a grill for the house (we use to rent grills for homecoming events, and parents weekend, so in the end we made out so much better) and have held BBQ's celebrating the end and beginning of classes. We have a great back yard and patio so we invited other greeks to join us.
We invite a fraternity for dinner over at the house once a month. This is really good for keeping up with faternity relations between your chapter and theirs.
We also hold two "screw Your sister events" each semester we draw sisters names out of a hat and hook them up with their crushes, at the mixer we give the match-ups ID tags, or the same type of candy bar, or a matching tie, and the couples have to find each other.
we have graffiti mixers where sisters and invites wear all white t-shirts/wifebeaters, and the chapter provides markers and everyone writes all over each other.
There are also the typical ones you can do:
cops and robbers
business hoes and ceo's
luau themes
beach themes
Sport themes
For fund raisers our chapter bought like 500 of those gorment lollypops for 25 cents each and sold them for 1.00 each over a month and that seemed to work out well. We got permission to sell them at the student union, and donated some of the funds raised.
Another fundraiser that works well on our campus is renting out your house's parking space. Alot of the frats rent out their spaces during football and basketball games to alumni and locals.
Its very quick fund raiser in one event if you have lets say 10 spots, 2 cars per spot, at ten dollars each, that's 200 dollars.
Hope you can use some of these ideas.

Good luck this semester with your committees.
