This is pretty sad for everyone involved.

Would the word "frat" coming from a news service be considered unprofessional?

And, sorry to say this, but I'm just glad our name wasn't invoked in that mess for once.

He did use "fraternity" throughout the actual story so I'm guessing frat was just used in the headline due to spacing etc. But I do find it an unprofessional word to use.

Can someone clarify a point in this article for me??? I am in no way a legal brain!!

1. The defendants' lawyer wants hazing charges to be dropped b/c the chapter wasn't official and 2 people weren't students. Is he OR is he not making a stand on the torchure charges?????

2. Is it the judge OR the lawyer trying to change the charges to torture????

3. The DA set the charges as hazing so the defendants wouldn't go to prison for LIFE if they were convicted, which torture charges require?

Am I getting this straight?

That's probably right, although it's also common for someone else to write the headline as oppossed to the person who actually wrote the story.
